At last the season starts

Cottesloe V Nollamara
Cot were very good last year and should thrash Nollamara who didn't win a game in E1 last year. Are Nolla the only club to finish last and go up.

Belmont V Jandakot
Belmont are the favorite this year and should be too good for the Jets. The Jets have a new coach and getting good numbers on the track but will take a while to tell under a new coach.

Cobras V Osbourne Park
Both sides were not far of the pace last season and by the looks of the clearances The Cobras have recruited better and should win at home.

Kwinana V Safety Bay
The word is that Safety Bay have lost over half of their players from last year and are struggling to field 1 team let alone 2 so Kwinana should win easily.

Armadale V Bayswater
Looking at the clearances Armadale have recruited more players than just about any other club in the WAAFL . They were not far of the mark last year and with all the ins they should improve a lot and be one of the teams to beat this year. At home they should beat Bayswater.

Can't wait for Saturday!! Not having played a scratch match this year the Armadale boys are keen as mustard to get involved in the real stuff!!

I'll have a dip at some tips....

Cottesloe - Very strong side last year and look to have added to it.

Belmont - Arguably the side to beat and will be far too strong for Jandakot.

Osborne Park - The Cobras may have added a few but my mail is the majority of the players coming into the club will slot into the 2's. Should be a close game though!

Kwinana - To win easily over a struggling Safety Bay club if the rumours are true.

Armadale - I'll back our boys in here, very keen to see what the new additions from up the road have to offer our club. They've been unreal so far, let's just hope they deliver on the park.

It's going to be an interesting comp this year with eleven teams that's for sure.

Nolla. I know cottesloe are a good running side and had a first good season last year finishing 4th but I think nollamara will shock a few teams this year. they seemed to have got a few players from surrounding clubs and if they play like they did back in 2012 then I think they will have a very good year nolla in a close match.

Belmont. Will be strong again this year but I think jandakot will take the challenge they have shown in the past that if on the day they come to play that they can stick with top sides but I think Belmont will still be strong but I don't think the jets will let them flog them Belmont just 3 or 4 goals.

Cockburn. This was a very hard game to choose like cottesloe and nolla. I only chose Cockburn because I know they a playing at davilak and they use that big wide ground very well and have picked up a few c3 players from both lakes and east freo but I think Ozzie park are a good all round side they travel well and love challenges they started of slow last year but this year I think they will come out strong from start to finish but I still think cobras by 1 point.

Kwinana. Only because I know nothing about the bay and Kwinana will come back strong like their mercantile days and be a strong competitor in ammo Kwinana by a few goals.

Armadale. I know the blues struggled back in 2012 when they last played in c4 going threw a season winless being thumped all most every week and struggling to make two sides but in saying that I don't think bayswater will let that mistake happen twice and will come out and show that they deserve to be here in c4 only thing is their first game Is against a tough side who last year thumped my side and we're a menace to c4.The demons big tough bodies will be to much for bayswater and will win pretty comfortable by 10+ goals.

Good luck boys to you and your teams and have a good season.

Perfect weather to kick the season off!!

Tips for the opening round:

Cottesloe- Play there postage stamp oval very well and seem to have added to an already strong side from last year, will be a good test for Nollamara first up but I think Cott will be to strong at home.

Belmont- Touted as the side to beat in 2015 and if last years form is anything to go by they should be, will win easily over Jandakot.

Cobras- This is probably the game that could go either way but I'll stick with Cockburn purely because its at home and its a long way to travel from Ozzie Park

Kwinana- By all accounts Safety Bay seem to have fallen into a heap and are struggling for numbers Kwinana to win by alot.

Armadale- Have to go with my boys from A-Town here. We've had a good preseason with solid numbers and a few new faces. Cant wait to see the new look Demons in action.

Good luck to all teams this week!!!

Strange new comp for me and I don't want to stick my foot in it, so I'll just talk about what I do know.

Nolla didn't win a game last year this is true, but they had turmoil in the pre-season that led to them losing half a squad and coaching group. If they've nominated to come back into C4 (which is an entry level, two team comp by the way so no real promotion or relegation, it's just based on having two amo teams) I can only assume that they've recruited well and put their issues behind them. The president had big dreams for the club last year and they looked very strong through the spring footy season also.

Bayswater are a fantastic side to play, have a great mix of big bodied key players (gun full forward) and some great quick midfielders. Watch out for their run and carry, although that might be a bit hard in the wet.

In E 1 last year Safety Bay were far and away the best team in the comp and should have dominated the comp more with the talent that they had but they were poorly coached and there was rumors of some dissension at the club. This dissension looks to have carried over to this year with a lot of players apparently leaving. Last year they had great depth right thru the club with a hard nut midfield , strong marking forwards and brilliant rebounding back line. If they can regroup and get to somewhere near what they had last year they will be a force. There was great spirit amongst the players after last years thrilling Grand Final that was won in controversial circumstances and I am sure the players will want to carry on with that feeling this year and hopefully they will regroup and if they do they could quite easily dominate this comp

Bayswater had good structure and played an exciting advanced brand of hard running and carry and play on type of team football last year. Their midfield ball movement was quick ,brilliant and thrilling to watch. To play this type of skillfull football though you need great depth in your team and this was were Bayswater fell down last year, their bottom 5/6 players were not up to this level. If Bayswater can improve their depth this year they will again be dangerous.

Nollamara came down from C 3 and only won 1 game in E1'last and now find themselves in C4. They were not that far off the mark last year and had a number of brilliant players . They were poorly coached with too many chiefs giving directions on the sidelines to the coach and undermining him. The players did not play team football and played for themselves adding to the coaches woes. They also did not have any depth and after their top 12/13 players they had a number of players just making up the numbers. They will need a big influx of players and good hard coaches to bring them into order for them to have any impact this year.

Tips for round 1

Safety Bay over Kwinana
Cottesloe over Nollamara
Armadale over Bayswater
Jandakot over Belmont
Osbourne Park over Cockburn
