Well here we are, it's finals time. Congratulations to those who made it, commiserations to those who failed to make it. Don't let that deter you from attending some B Grade WAAFL Football, or any football for that matter. Get out of the house and support your local football club.
North Freo have earned the week off in League, Reserves, Colts and D1League. Good effort from a club working their way towards playing A Grade Football next season and the League side is only 1 win away from earning that right. Should be a good finals series so why waste anymore time and let's get stuck into it.
Elimination Finals @John Dunn Memorial Park
Scarborough V Bullcreek Leeming -Reserves
Previous Meetings This Season
Scarborough 13.14 (92) defeated Bullcreek Leeming 2.7 (19)
Bullcreek Leeming 9.3 (57) defeated Scarborough 7.7 (49)
Well I've seen both of these Reserves sides play and I'd definitely have Scarborough as the better of the two sides. Scarborough won't be aided by the fact that they have their Colts and League playing at different grounds, whereas the Bullcreek faithful only have to concern themselves with heading to Kelmscott to support their club. I know Bullcreek will be looking take something away from B Grade so this is their big chance, especially a few players might drop back to assist them. I'll go with Bullcreek here.

Kelmscott v Hamersley Carine -League
Previous Meetings This Season
Hamersley Carine 12.12 (84) defeated Kelmscott 11.7 (73)
Kelmscott 13.9 (87) defeated by Hamersley Carine 15.4 (94)
Well Kelmscott tuned up for finals with a big win over Collegians last weekend which also enabled them to earn a home final after Hamersley lost to Wembley. Kelmscott have had some good form of late and are starting to play some good football. Rumours are circling that they may be without their star player Ninyette though after he was given a Red Card last weekend. Hamersley missed out on the chance to host the final and give them a good chance to win, but given they have beaten Kelmscott at Kelmscott suggests we shouldn't be writing them off just yet. It will definitely be a tough task given the other sides are playing at different grounds. I think Hamersley can cause an upset here.

Wembley v Hamersley Carine -Reserves
Previous Meetings This Season
Wembley 9.12 (66) defeated Hamersley Carine 7.5 (47)
Wembley 9.10 (64) defeated Hamersley Carine 6.5 (41)
Well we have a good Reserves game here kicking off finals with both these sides fighting for the right to play North Freo next week. Wembley have been a good consistent Reserves side all season and I notice A.Piccoli has played enough games to qualify for Reserves, so if he can produce some of his old form, look out. Hamersley like their League side will be up against it but they have earned the right to be here so I'm sure they will be still firing, even if they don't have a lot of support at the ground. Wembley will be too good here though

Wembley V Scarborough -League FOTW
Previous Meetings This Season
Scarborough 6.6 (42) defeated by Wembley 7.13 (55)
Wembley 9.13 (67) Drew with Scarborough 9.13 (67)
Do I even need to say it? Of course this is Mr Mysterious' FINAL OF THE WEEK. Formally know as the Match of the Round. These two sides have a history of playing great Finals matches with games being decided by a point or even a game heading into Extra Time a few years ago. So if you aren't doing anything Saturday, get down and watch this match.
Wembley have been good for most of the season and have worked hard to rectify mistakes from earlier in the year which saw them start 0-2. They have bounced back though and if they are playing their best football they are very hard to stop especially with the Noakes brothers up forward. Scarborough have slipped up in the latter part of this season losing games they should have won. Perhaps they were resting a few players so they are ready to go this weekend, because they will need to be. It should be a fine day on Saturday which should make for good football,so again I implore you to get down and watch. Wembley might be too good here.
Wembley by 3 points
Well it should all be entertaining fixtures and I can't wait to see the results. On Saturday MrM will be down supporting the Thirds and Fourths sides from Wanneroo as they take on Hamersley at Carine Open Space. So hopefully they have the canteen and bar in full swing. (I very much doubt they will though).
