So looks like we will have the following fixture next week:
@ Mills Park
Kenwick vs DM (League)
DM vs Kenwick (Ressies)
@ Kingfisher
Balla vs Brentwood (League)
Ellenbrook vs Balla (Ressies)

The league stated before finals that all 2nd semis would be on the same ground, all first semis same ground, etc.
If that's the case, Ellenbrook reserves will be playing at Mills Park.....

That would be a change from how they've fixtured finals in recent years. Do you know the reason for that?

Because there are always clubs who get 2 teams in and always one of them puts on a complaint. Can't complain now as everyone knows up front all games are together.

That is crazy if they don't amend the fixturing !

happened on the weekend to Thornlie and Warnbro in C2. Warnbro got lucky out of the deal. Thornlie who had all 3 teams and hosting were separated.

if you chuck in the colts fixtures aswell it makes it even more messed up. Ballajura's colts are playing Belmont at Mills park. but that's how it goes I guess.

the game between our reserves and Cockburn on the weekend was a cracker. passions ran high and the pressure from both sides was right up there all day. I think the major difference over last week was that a few of our big lads didn't play last week for various reasons which showed as we probably only got two clearances all day and the scoreboard showed that, this week our rucks gave our mids first use more often than not and took some big grabs around the ground to sure thing up later on.

come three quarter time the scores were relatively even which gave our lads confidence as all the close games this year we have taken. it also feels good to get a win over Cockburn who have had the wood over our twos for a while. there was a scrap after the siren not sure what started it but once it was over most of both teams shook hands and our lads went inside to sing the song.

this scheduling is a headache, especially for diehard club supporters. I mean supporters will have to either leave the reserves game early to get to the start of the league or miss the start of the league in 3 of the four sides in the finals. I would understand if Ellenbrook opposed the change as that would give Ballajura a home ground advantage but switching the reserves and colts games would make sense in my humble opinion

in the brentwood vs swan view game the score doesnt really reflect teh game, it was actually pretty close all day. Both teams were playing hard fought footy and brentwood probably lead by 2 goals for most of the day. we got to about 4 goals up in teh third quater then kicked a couple late ones in the forth to end up with a 9 goal win.

Always enjoy playing swan view good tough but clean games of footy. Interesting to see Mad dog suit up for the first time of the 7 games we played against the view in the last two years!


really looking forward to balla this weekend, we got a bit of a hiding at kingfisher earlier in the year and I know the boys were really dissappointed in that effort so looking to rectify here! also change the game plan a little bit to reflect the tiny oval!!
