Well what an end to B Grade it was Willetton showed everybody they have something to offer next season. North Freo tuned up for finals dismantling Scarborough, Wembley secured second spot on the ladder, and Kelmscott tuned up for finals and grabbed a home final in the process with a big win. As for Wanneroo, well it's fair to say we were woeful.

MrM enjoyed the lovely journey down towards Harmony Fields on Saturday. The early start of all games didn't deter me from arriving early and getting to the ground on time.
It was good timing because I got there in time to see Wanneroo's colts team run out onto the field. Well it was a disappointing way to end the season for the colts. Especially after last weeks debacle, I thought that the boys would be firing and ready to go but sadly they were slow out of the blocks. Maddington ran all over Wanneroo early on and were much better across the whole ground than Wanneroo. It was during the third quarter that Wanneroo decided to play so,e football, but they were never really in the contest. Not a great way to end the year but always next year to continue to improve.

Well Wanneroo's reserves team were slower out of the blocks than the colts team was. However they only waited till the second quarter to kick into gear. From then on it was all one way traffic. For the second week in a row Wanneroo failed to do anything exciting and still walk away with a win. They finished the season only 1 win away from finals.

MrM ventured to the canteen with such high expectations especially after all the good reports he had heard from fellow canteen lovers around the league. Well first of all MrM noticed that the Hot Chips were crinkle cut. Not a good start and MrM ordered a hamburger. Well I was pleasantly surprised when MrM opened his burger to find he had not one but TWO Hamburger patties. Well it was quite a filling burger and I'm sure one patty would have sufficed. I tried some hot chips and altoniugh they appeared and felt like they were cooked properly, it was the crinkle ness of the chips that let them down overall. 7/10 get some straight cut chips and you won't be disappointed.

Well it was time for the league game and with Wanneroo needing a big win and things to go their way to play finals I was looking forward to this highly anticipated game. I had barely finished my chips before Maddington had kicked two goals inside 2 minutes of the game. Well it was all one way traffic from there on in. Down by 6 goals at quarter time the Wanneroo players copped a spray from the coach, but it did little as Wanneroo looked flat and barely interested by half way through the second quarter. An innocuous knock to a players back left a Wanneroo player motionless and required a stretcher to get off the ground.
The best part for Wanneroo all day was when a Maddington player read the tap off the ruckman correctly and ran the wrong way, kicked it to a Wanneroo forward 35 out from goal and he duely slotted it. It was the best passage of play for Wanneroo all day. It was also the only time MrM can recall that the went Wanneroo's way straight from the centre. Maddington ran rampant over Wanneroo all day and did so in the second half. The only consolation was that MrM declared last goal won and that went to Wanneroo, so there was some saving grace for the day.

It was a disappointing display from a team looking towards playing finals, but a young side can only continue to get better.

Finals start next week, so it's sure to be an exciting finals series.

Thanks ChampKinds I do aim to pleases the masses.

C'mon Mr AngryAnt don't be one of those guys "where are Collegians playing?" Their League side didn't make finals, it's not the end of the world. They do have a Colts team in the finals, the future of their club.
Also AngryAnt I notice on your clubs Facebook page you refer to your Thirds side as "Amateurs" is every grade not Amateurs? Or have the laws of the WAAFL changed,

Well played Angry Ant. To be honest, nah, most of the team found it too far to travel to play a meaningless game, but well done on the win and im sure you are going to cause some damage in the finals....

Look forward to coming up against you guys next year, i wonder what players you will spend your money on?

I was at the game, great facilities for a country football side. Loved the group of hillbillies behind the goals. Were they just family and friends of he side, or were they some of Kelmscott's finest local supporters? I can certainly say it was a cultural experience venturing outside my precious western suburbs, saw some great rat tails, neck tattoos and some beautiful looking girls. I'd rate the town of Kelmscott about 8/10, loved it.

Well after the mindless offensive rant last week and a prediction of another belting a post was surely expected? And collegians don't seem impartial to some interesting hairstyles are they? A few nice mullets were in the mix. Oh and if we do face off next year is it too much to ask for a warm shower and clean drains as opposed to manky change rooms? Would be appreciated by all. Thanks

Of course I expected a response. And it wasn't a mindless offensive post, it was a post made after some hillbilly from kelmscott spoke poorly about the beloved cruikshank facilities to go along with my already strong disliking for kelmscott who have stolen a lot of collegians players over the last two years through the use of some coin.

And unfortunately, sorry, I cant provide you with warm showers as we won't even have change rooms next year with the installation of new club and change rooms over the next 12 months.
