Hamersley Carine 0.0 0.0 0.0 9.8 (62)

Well no real surprises in many of these results. Kelmscott , Scarborough, Wembley and North Freo all look like they did it easy. The top 3 is nearly set, it's just a battle to determine the last two places in the finals. Sadly for Bullcreek and Willetton, they need a minor miracle to avoid the drop.

MrM arrived precisely on time for the game after a quick trip to the local markets in the morning, ready to take on Willetton. Although MrM doesn't play anymore I still feel as though I could comfortably slot into any B Reserves side.

Our young colts were in action and ready to test themselves against a team who they thought they could beat. For half a game they were playing good team football and definitely looked like winning the game. Until halfway through the third quarter where they completely lost the plot, gifting Willetton 5 goals in about 7 minutes and from there the game was lost. Disappointing from those young guys but I'm sure they will learn and get better.

Before I jump into the reserves game let's give a big pat on the back to the lady who was running the canteen on the clubrooms side of the ground. She was working tirelessly all day, she even managed time to fit in a crossword. Sadly for her and the club, the canteen was a complete farce. 1/10
I will say that the mini bar and sausage sizzle being run on the far side was quite good, but given you have to scale a metre high wall, after walking 150 metres just to get said drink and sausage sizzle it gets a harsh mark from me. 2/10
Also no hot chips. 0/10

The reserves game was a bit of a snore fest. Wanneroo looked like they never really got out of first gear, whilst Willetton looked like they didn't know how to start the car. 4 colts players from Willetton doubled up for the game so that may have had something to do with it. Wanneroo did do minimal as possible to get the win.

Time for the League game and the Wanneroo boys may have fallen asleep watching the reserves game because they got off to a slow start, that being said theydid have a lot of the ball inside the forward 50 but did nothing with it . Willetton were moving the ball exceptionally well and punishing Wanneroo turnovers. It was much of the same in the second quarter as Wanneroo weren't playing good football at all. Willetton were playing some good football and some Wanneroo fans were beginning to wonder if/when we were going to start playing some football.
At half time MrM wandered back over to the clubrooms side of the ground. Only to hear the Wanneroo coach letting some expletives fly at his troops, MrM didn't venture inside the rooms, but could hear the "conversation" from outside the rooms.

Well Wanneroo sprung to life in the third quarter and kicked 6 goals to 1. Playing much better team oriented football. It was in the third quarter banter started flowing between the two sides supporters sitting in the bar area. One young Willetton man nearly blew a gasket shouting out "Presssssssureeeeeeee" for no apparent reason. No malice in any of the comments, just some good light heart natured fun.
Willetton did get the jump on Wanneroo at the start of the fourth quarter kicking an early goal and puting them under all sorts of pressure. Wanneroo did manage to play better though and work harder to get the win. A Willetton player was given a yellow card after, for no apparent reason he dumped a Wanneroo player on the ground behind the play. It's never fun to be on the end of a Na Na Na Na hey hey goodbye, especially in your home turf, but that's what he got from the Wanneroo faithful.
Wanneroo managed to get a win in the end, but can't afford to play like that against North Freo next week.

Let's hear from some others. Ready? Go...

Good write up mr m I will say the setup at burrendah is quite odd with the changerooms on the complete opposite side to the bench
