Good game down at light st in dreadful playing conditions. The doggies came out firing and owned the first qtr but were only up 2 goals to 1 at the first break. DM lifted in the 2nd and 3rd and went in at qtr time around 4 goals up. The last qtr was completely owned by the dogs who must've gone inside 50 at least 20 times for the qtr. End result was 11 points but seemed closer to me.

Interesting day at light street, and think scores are wrong as we definitely kicked 4 goals, so end margin was actually 5 points. Full credit to Dianella made the most of their opportunities yet bulldogs were very wasteful. I thought we controlled the game most of the day just couldn’t kick a score! I recon inside 50's would have been something like 70 - 30 yet Dianella made the most of it when it counted!

Interesting to go in the club rooms after the game for a beer and not one of the home team are there? The team have an old strong forward line who are very smart, but still rely on intimidation as opposed to hard work to try win games, might get them a couple scalps in the home and away, but don’t really think it will stand up in finals, any way only time will tell, and as Ballajura had this week, we now have a fortnight to think about how we let that slip and then face Ballajura, the only team we lost to in the first half of the year so we definitely owe them!

well what a weekend for football. windy and rainy a backmans favourite conditions.

the reserves game started off with the wind and a bit of rain. the wind was so bad it completely destroyed the away cover I watched as one of the legs snapped and the whole thing folded in on itself. but cheers to the East Freo Pres who shot to Bunning's to get another one which was up a short way into the first quarter. the game was very scrappy as happens in those conditions. the rain really set in halfway through the first quarter and east led by a point at the first break. the game continued in the same vein with us getting it a bit our way then it would turn and east would slot a few. the skills were surprisingly good for such a wet game and at the half east led by a couple of points. I didn't see the second half but I've heard the third was much the same as the first half before our players took control in the somewhat dryer last quarter.

the league game started out with a flourish the oval had drained really well when the rain stopped and both teams had the run going I believe the first quarter margin was 5 or 6 goals to 3 our way. the second was very one sided our mids took control and helped us to a 10 goal quarter while Easts kicked 2. both teams lost a couple of players to injury but the game continued to be very physical around the ground. we maintained control through the second half running over them to a degree but they kept pushing till the end despite the large deficit.

some close games around the grade, the rain playing a part in that I'm sure. swan view winning another close game against Cockburn by the same margin as round 1, Ellenbrook only beating Manning by 24 points in a very low scoring game and DM knocking off another side who were equal first.

this grade is wide open and will be very interesting as the season comes to a head.

Sorry Bulldog, We normally have a drink with our opponents after every home game but this week we had a team meeting. A good game from both sides and I think you might be right about the score.
