Managed to catch the 2 games down at light st this week. The resisies game was a pretty good game up till half time, until the royals showed their class after the main break getting up by 10+ goals. The ballajura side is one of the better reserves sides I've seen in a while with some classy midfielders like the old bald guy #9. Definitely a class above resisies.

The league was an enjoyable game with scores close most of the day. The difference in the end was probably the classy goal sneak fwd pocket who kicked 6 or 7 for dianella. End result was about 5 goals. Should be a cracker next week dianella vs Brentwood with dianella getting back their 2 gun midfielders. Ballajura to freshen up their young legs with a week off

good game held out at coolamon as well, Ellenbrook had a family day of some sort with petting zoo, bouncy castles and the likes which seemed to be enjoyable for the kids in attendance.

Was a close hard fought game throughout, going gaol for goal for basically three quarters. We finally got some ascendency in the third and then finished off in the forth.

One of our young colts doubled up and took an absolute screamer in the goal square, only to knock himself out when his head hit the ground, although he will tell you it was from the lack of oxygen at that altitude!

Number 11 from Ellenbrook was a bit of a sniper and got found out being sent off with a yellow card, our full forward couldn’t play after half time, although had already kicked 4, and was coming off an 8 goal haul the week before!

Luckily our little Victorian bulldog stepped up to take some good marks and finish well to secure the win for us.

Big thanks to the hospitality at Ellenbrook, put some beers on for us and gave awards after the game, was a great atmosphere, seems they had some beer pong tournament on that evening which was proving hard for me to round up the boys to get back on the bus!

Well at the half way point and I must say we are pretty happy to be sitting 8 - 1. Sets us up pretty well but obviously plenty of work to be done yet and hopefully the injuries stop happening as we are testing the depth at the moment, in saying that, expecting a couple to come back later in the year who should be fresh and ready to go!

Huge game this week vs Dianella, we got a jump on them early last time and that was basically the difference, and since then they have secured some new talent so will be a good game, looking forward to the challenge and then getting out bye the week after so leave nothing in the tank this week boys!

Was disapointing seeing that player who got sent off bare his fat arse to not only the Brentwood bench but all the families and children at the game also.. Save your invitations next time mate.

well that Ballajura Dianella game threw off most of the tippers, only one getting all correct this week and that was Footballr which sees him jump to 3rd

yeah just shows his mental age really, surely the club will deal with that, no need for it really.

our day at Anning started roughly with the Cockburn reserves jumping out to a 5 goal lead in the first. from the sidelines at times our players looked like spectators watching their players come in and grab the ball. the tide slowed a little in the second but Cockburn where still in control. we counted 4 players who were league players when we played them last(admittedly a few years ago) running around in the twos. depending on the reasoning for them playing 2s they could look to give their league a boost in the second round.

the league game was a different story. both sides attacked the ball hard and I'm sure there are some sore bodies around the place from both sides, myself included. Cockburn play a very nice style of football with runners from behind flowing forward though this does lead them being vulnerable to quick counter attacks if they run into a strong defence. the final quarter was all Cockburn with us putting it in cruise control but by that stage they where 10 goals down and despite their best efforts, I think they kicked 5 and we got 1, we managed to walk away with a 6 goal win.

true story whitey, ask around...he advised me to go to BWS at the brook as you guys might run short. We got one at the brook any way and it was thoroughly enjoyed on the bus home!

Great setup there at Coolamon on Saturday, well run club and looked like a good function for families. VP Adrian came up to me twice, completely unannounced asking if everything is OK and if we needed everything. (I needed a win in the Ressies but he was less accommodating there).
