I went along to watch Bassendean play in the big match on Back to Basso day. What a day!!! The club set up a big marque and the crowd was great, lots of people turned up to a very big day. I watched the last half of the reserves and Noranda were just a little better than Basso. The main game was a cracker from the lads running our easy winners by 102 points. They put on an awesome display of good team footy. The big fella up fwd kicking a lazy 10. Noranda were in the hunt at quarter time but the lads then put the accelerator down. The coach has them firing at the moment and the talk amongst us in the bar area is that this is our best chance to go deep into finals for a while.Congrats to all for a great day. Any other scores?

Cwp got the job done in the colts and the league over warnbro. League game was high intensity with the swans almost stealing it at the end.

Warnbro ressies kicked the first 6 goals which sunk cwp. Who matched them after the first change.

Thornlie up in all 3 grades

Thornlie league gave Swan Valley a nice touch up to get back on the winners board. Ended up with a 130-140 point win.
Swan Valley tried hard all day and never gave up hope. There a good punch of blokes with the game played in good spirits.
Valley have a few good players roaming around (Roids) but just couldnt handle the pressure we applied on the bigger field.

Good to see Noranda playing well ;) and interesting that the purple army (Warnbro) got done.

Few big weeks ahead for the Lions. (Warnbro, CV, Carlisle)
Get through the next couple weeks with some good results and we can really set up our season.

In absence of LAG, I'll give a quick recollection.

Battle of the cougars.
Our colts and reserves were given lessons and both went down!
Our boys didn't show the desire required on the day and were on the back footy early!

Carlisle reserves- seem fit and have a bit of pace which isn't around all sides in the 2s!

League game- battle for top spot!
Carlisle came out firing and put the first few
On the board before we responded with half time I think had under a goal margin with Carlisle in front.
Tight game all the way through and Carlisle got the first in the last to have a 10 point buffer!
Our boys dug deep and came through with goods to win by 7 points!

To there credit they dominated in the guts with a solid ruckman and 21, solid mid!
Interested to see if they were at full strength? Good side and similar game style to the cougars from
Cv!

Looks like I missed a good weekend of footy.\

Noranda and Valley pumped again, SNESA lost their best player to a back injury on the weekend (good mate of mine). A rejuvenated CWP beat Warnbro making this weeks game against CV an interesting one. Basso and Thornlie again prove their credentials as a force and a Carlisle loss proves the premiership race is open.

Would love to hear write ups from the Warnbro v CWP game (Goalski???)

And a special well done to my Cougars who took top spot off Carlisle in what must have been a cracker. Would love to hear some input from any Carlilse fans...
Loves kicking goals, passing them off is only an option.
