Good day down at James Millar oval for brentwood

The reserves game was interesting, definitely some players running around in the early game who would have been handy in the league squad, especially number 11, wonder if they have dropped some back or if they had prior engagements and couldn’t make the afternoon game. Our ressies held tough though and got away with a 10 point win.

In the league game it was pretty even in the 1st quarter, we got a bit ahead in the 2nd to lead by about 4 goals at half time, then I think the rippers didn’t emerge from the change rooms, they didn’t score after half time and were basically just representing witches hats out on the field, such a difference from the first half, almost as if they were just waiting for the norm to kick in and they just basically stopped playing. I think we scored about 15 goals to their nothing after half time. As harsh as that sounds, I have been there before when brentwood was going through a rough patch, but really important the guys play out games and start re building!

Any other write ups? Interested to hear how the Ball and Kenwick’s game went?

Looking forward to a tough challenge this week against Kenwick. Any balla boys care to divulge some information on what we should watch out for?

it was a very tightly contested game against Balla. they have a strong backline but were under siege in the last. Balla were up by a goal in the first. then ties at the halftime and Three quarter time breaks though the third quarter seemed to flow for us they kicked a few goals late to get back to even.

there were some fiery moments in the game a scrap on three quarter time resulted in I think it was the Balla ruckmen getting a yellow. then another minor tussle which led to yellows either way.

yeah looking forward to a tough game at Karoonda, from memory last time we played you there it was a night game and you got the jump on us.

Good 3 games down at brown park between ellenbrook and swan view. Less than a goal all games. View won colts, ellenbrook won ressies by 2 points, view won league by 4 points.
League was a hard contest all day, with an ellenbrook player getting the ball from a boundary throw in and havin bout ten metres clearance all ways and had a shot from about 30 out on 45 degrees and juuuust pushed it across the face by about a metre and the siren went not 5 seconds later. And view won by four points. Really close hard fought game. Looking forward to another game later in the year.

Fumbles, not sure if you participated or just watched but both sides were clearly getting firey. Clarkson, the yellow to our ruckman was due to an incident earlier in the 3rd term and happened to be caught in retaliation. The scrap at 3QTR time was due to a separate incident involving a Kenwick player landing a few cheap hits, followed by all players getting involved. No point in getting involved in a silly argument about who did what because it will always be the case of one word against anothers. Both teams were fired up all day and it was a very close game of football up until about the last 15minutes when Kenwick strung a few goals together. I would be happy to see the umpires have a little more control for the return leg as it seemed to spoil a good game of football.

Bulldog, you will want to watch for a few runners in the midfield as well as the big boy up forward with the Eddie Betts shorts that took a few handy grabs. Should be a good game down at the kennel.

not all of us got involved I wandered over to talk to our coach.

and fumbles I never said balla started either scrap. I didn't see how they started to be honest. I was just noting that passions were high on both sides
