Some interesting results from this round 5 B grade action.
Some people thought to question me about my game of the round. Wembley got the win over Scarborough at The Mill. While Wanneroo were given a good old touch up.

I started off the day with a lovely view of the ocean as I embarked on a journey to North Fremantle. You know it's a bad day when on reflection the best part of your day was arriving at the ground on time.
Mr Mysterious day at North Freo = 2/10 overall but I'll get to that throughout my speel.

The young colts side is improving every week and were close to a win if not for the most bizzare umpiring decision all day. Or so I thought at the time.
(Side note I'm not an umpire basher/hater and I certainly wouldn't boo an umpire when they were being carried off like those degenerate Essendon supporters. The two club umpires in the reserves game were the most fair and honest of the 6 all day.)
A North Freo player was running down the wing took a bounce, a Wanneroo player tackled the North Freo player as he bounced it, what's your decision?
Apparently it's holding the man? Not holding the ball. As the Wanneroo tackled the North Freo player without the ball. It prompted the usually quiet and reserved MrM to leap up from his seat and just remind the umpire of the rules.
They went and kicked a goal and Wanneroo fell short. A win is not to far away for the colts.

After that debacle MrM travelled to the canteen to see what North Freo faithful had on offer for this great food connoisseur. I saw the lady in front of me order some hot chips. They were crinkle cut. That's a no go for MrM so I had to resort to option 2. Sausage roll. None in stock. The kind gentleman offered me his new craze some cheesey fruit toast. MrM left with a puzzled look on his face, thinking how could anyone want something like that as I just got a bacon and egg sandwich. I took one bite, onions were included in the said sandwich, I can't complain about the sandwich is was delicious, but I think I got more onion than egg. I wouldn't fault the man's salesmanship, but MrM was left feeling unsatisfied. Enthusiasm/Customer Service 9/10. Product 3/10.

The reserves had a very good game and were right in it till they fell away in the last quarter. North Freo have a lot of bigger bodies and that may helped them in the end. Brian Taylor would have had a field day biggggggg boyyyyyyyyy.

Time for the league game that everyone was looking forward to. It was clear from the outset that this was going to be a physical game, with word on the street, North Freo were out to intimidate young Wanneroo joeys. It was a good contested game early with both sides trading blows and goal for goal till quarter time.
It was that point of the day MrM realised we could have a potential MATCH OF THE ROUND on our hands, but a kind man armed with an orange top, a visor and a whistle thought he would rain on the parade. His decision making left both teams confused as he made up his own rules.
Wanneroo were right in the contest up until half time with scores just about even. North Freo were very good after half time but Wanneroo were not so good. It was clear that North Freo were a class above. By 3 quarter time North Freo had extended the lead to 5 goals, but I still thought Wanneroo were a chance it wasn't to be as North Freo kicked the first 2 in the last quarter and it was all but over. If people thought that the decision earlier in the day was strange wait till you hear this one.
Two North Freo players had a head clash, no Wanneroo involvement (we weren't close enough to the ball for that) and somehow visor man thought he'd pay a free kick to North Freo for reasons unknown. I know people are prone to make mistakes it happens, but with other decisions throughout the day (I won't say what) made MrM quite perplexed.

North Freo ran out winners eventually. Wanneroo will take a lot from the game as North Freo are the bench mark and looked very good Saturday. I'm looking forward to next Saturday already.

classic write up.

Love your work MrM.

Solid win by BCL over Maddington. Seems Maddo have the same issues with colts and ressies this yr. Hope it doesn't lead to them playing short later in the yr

Good write up.

Was at the North Freo Vs Wanneroo game. North Freo have some serious players and really play as a team. Not flashy, just getting the job done. I believe they are the clear cut top team of the comp, and with a few old heads running around should keep them on top most of the year.

On the note of umpiring. It seems the old man with a visor had a terrible day, not sure what he was thinking on some of the decisions. I think you can tell its getting really bad, when everyone is looking to the ump when they get touched or touch the ball. Maybe he needs to go back to basic's in one of the lower grades.
BUT saying that Im sure both team would except him next week if it meant that we all would get another game of footy. Umpires are needed and at least that bloke gives it a crack.

It seems as it could be a very close year for all teams to be making the finals/ avoiding relegation.

Agree with QB here looking like it will be a very even year apart from north freo being clearly ahead of the pack at the moment. Quite funnily enough out of the three teams struggling the most so far willo, maddo and collegians two of them were A grade teams from last year. Should be interesting to see how the season pans out.

Mr M, you should have had the crinkle cuts, they sound nicer than an onion and egg roll

It was a strange day PH. I sampled a crinkle cut chip from another man and they were definitely a miss.
