Any game write ups?

I wondered down to the Stirling vs OR match for a look and the game was all over after the first quater. Stirling kicked 6 to nothing and OR were never really in it after that. To their credit they did peg the score back to only be a 4 goal loss but the Stirling boys just did what they had too to stay Infront.

Gosnells Vs Kingsway

Colts - Missed the game however was advised that it was close up until 1/2 time (Kingsway by 6 points) but after that was all the Roos as they kicked 11 goals to 1 to remain undefeated

Ressies: - Again all Kingsway as they are very well drilled unit and are strong across the park in all areas. Gosnell's not the fittest side and this showed after half time. Massive game next week between Kingsway & Ocean Ridge as both are undefeated

League - Again a massive win for the visitors who effectively killed the contest in the 1st qtr kicking 6.3 to 0.3 and continued on with it for the remaining 3 qtrs. Kingsway a well drilled team who certainly work for each other however like the Reserves, i dont think Gosnell's are the fittest side going around which clearly hurt them on a relatively warmish day.

Looking forward to this weekends Kingsway Vs Ocean Ridge games as it should be 3 great contests across all grades

Melville vs Canning

Colts - Missed the first half, but apparently there was a fair brawl just before half time that may see a player or 2 from both teams sit out a week. Close game in the second half with Canning making the most of their chances and winning by a couple of goals.

Reserves - Canning started the stronger of the 2 sides and opened up a 4 goal lead before Melville had even had an effective possession.Few spot fires breaking out in the second quarter which saw a couple of yellows and red card dished out. Good game of reserves football for the remaining 3 quarters, with Melville fighting back into the game to get within a kick. A last ditch effort into the Melville forward 50 in closing seconds came up empty handed as the siren went with Canning winning by less than a goal. Melville will be ruing their missed chances and slow start.

League - The winless Melville finally got some point on the board, winning by a few goals. A nearly full strength Melville side finally found some scoring power up forward, which has been something that has avoided them this year. Canning showed some good endeavour after half time pegging a couple of goals back early, and with a couple of Melville players suffering some pretty serious injuries they looked to be a chance. But Melville steadied early in the last quarter and kicked away with the breeze to get the choccies.

Lynwood rocked up at High Wycombe and played a very committed side, we didnt give them enough respect and we didnt work hard enough defensively, which meant we got comprehensively beaten by a better side on the day. The scoreboard flattered us and 4 points at the end of the day was probably closer than we deserved to get.

Full credit to Garth, the league runner (not sure what your name is champ but I had a beer with you afterwards) and the club president. Racial villification reared its head on the day, and High Wycombe dealt with it very swiftly. If more clubs dealt with issues like that less dickhead would be at the footy

Good luck for round 6 everyone
