What a pleasure it was to venture back out to Scott Reserve to play High Wycombe. I was fortunate to see all 3 games which the visitors won comfortably.

Colts - 2 undefeated teams went at it and it was pretty much all 1 way traffic with Kingsway getting the jump on HW early and although they fought back in the 2nd Qtr to trail by 20 points at 1/2 time, Kingsway dominated the 2nd half kicking 8 goals to 2 to tun out 10 goal victors

Reserves - Coming off 2 x 20 goal wins it was expected that Kingsway would agian post a cricket score result against a winless HW however the game was close for a half before Kingsway went on with it after 1/2 time to win by 10 goals in another pretty dominant display. No real standouts for the winners as it was a pretty even team performance

League - Again is was expected that Kingsway would come out and wipe the floor with a winless opponent however it what was a bit of a surpise that Kingsway led by only 4 points at 1/2 time. HW showed pretty good glimpses of pressure footy and were certainly in the game up until the main break however as they have done in previous weeks, Kingsway came out after 1/2 time breathing fire and kicked 9 goals to nothing to run out 10 goal victors and continue there red hot start to season 2014

All in all a great day for the vistors although a couple of points to be noted for future visiting teams:

1- Dont say a single word to the HW umpire who did the colts & ressies as he fired out yellow cards and 50 metre penalties at will (all to the opposition by the way) - very baffling and frustrating at times

2- Be careful not to cheer and support your team too loudly as the lovely middle aged mums watching the colts and drinking cans of woodstock and cola at 10.30am in the morning will put you in there place. They also offer wonderful advice to there sons/players such as "Rip his bloody head off" and "punch him son"

All in all just another day at the Kennell!!!!!!

Leggo33 I also was at the ground for the three games and I think your story is a load of crap for starters there was no alcohol sold at the ground until 12:30 so if your referring to people drinking elsewhere around the ground they are not part of the club and the ugly parent syndrome was both clubs not 1. To the umpiring someone had to start umpiring as your umpire was that old slow and blind he had no idea what he was doing. I'm sure players from other clubs could tell some stories about there experience travelling to Kingsway.

Alcohol may not have been sold dog but they we certainly drinking it under the verandah at the start of the colts game and were certainly supporting the home team. As for the HW umpire, the less said the better because he certainly tried his hardest to keep the home team in the game with some of the most biased decisions imaginable not to mention the firing out of yellow card after yellow card to kingsway players yet the HW boys could stroll around the park doing as they pleased. the kingsway umpire may be old and slow but one he is fair in his decision making unlike your bloke who even the HW colts coach said afterwards was embarrassing.

Dessert Dog, little matter of factual law here mate, High Wycombes home ground, that means High Wycombe's club licences is at risk if people are drinking outside of bar opening times and outside the licence areas.

High Wycombe is responsible for its supporters, its licenced area and its bar. To say not our problem we were not selling the alcohol will still result in prosecution from the law and a loss of licence if people were drinking alcohol that was not bought at the club.

Will not take nothing away from Lynwood as they did run hard for each other and had better skills on the day but canning came out in the first qtr and looked liked they had just got out of bed! That's what cost them game in the end. Lynwood's fast start and canning took a half of footy to react. But in saying that they did fight back and at one stage bought it back to a couple of points before Lynwood once again went bang in the closing of the last and came home winners!
In saying that after speaking to some players after the game apparently Lynwood only just managed to scrape together enough for the 2's game! And if that's the case I might be a little worried if injuries come along!

Where have all your players/kids gone PH.??
I know some times when I drive past on a Sunday the ovals are full.

In the other results.
Stirling I think had an upset of the round as they made Gosnells look ordinary!
Ridge and Quinns must of been a nail bitter.
Kingsway kept the dogs goalless after half time
And Kingsley accounted for Melville as again the PANDA is still a NO show.

hey kick the ball, Interesting comments you make, when chatting to your players/coach after the game they felt the start was so poor from Canning due to percevied pressure they were under. So was it the pressure that they were under or did you guys just not turn up??

From my memeory of the game Lynwood got the jump and lead early without being headed at any stage. In each of the quarters Canning rallied and got close with Lynwood being able to withstand the pressure and kicked away with the last couple of goals of each quarter.

We enjoy playing Canning as the games are always high quality events that are played in the right spirits and saturday was no different. Look forward to having you at our ground in round 2.

Oh and that is the best your ground has ever looked, even back into my Sunday league days. Credit to your club and the committee for presenting such a great surface to play on

Not sure where your info came about struggling for players for the Two's. We were easily able to fill both sides and we currently have about 90 players on our books, so our numbers are not to bad considering we dont have colts, only had about 20 colts on our books last year and lost a few of our older players to the vets that play on the Sundays when you see our Oval packed.

Yes our depth may not be fantastic but we have enough good players to be competetive most weeks and thats our goal for the season.

I was also interested in the Gosnells result, Having played Stirling the week earlier I thought they may get found out on the big oval at Gosnells, maybe the hawks had a few out?????

could not agree more with you PH, your guys pressure and numbers around the ball, along with run and create that next link in game play just out did us.
And when we thought we had found third gear to get us up and going again your guys stood up and stoped our run and the flow of the game.
Just some general feed back from the players that they did start a bit slower than normal and maybe felt if they had set the standard and game pace early then just maybe would of been a different result.
but in saying that we will have to work on a few things and meet you guys latter on down the track.
Spot on the money with the game style and played in good spirits. Deffernetly 2 teams that match up well against each other

just curious tho, dose the club have much involvment with the lynwood Junior club at all or is that run separately??

The cricket club have done a good job in keeping the ground in good condition, and it also helps that SNESA are not traing there every other night that we are not... just dreading what the rain is going to do to the pitch after this week of non stop down pour.

KTB

We work very tight with our juniors mate, unfortunately due to the club being in an older area we dont have alot of junior sides and our oldest junior side is under 14's. There will be a few tough years ahead for the club until the colts get up and running. Wwe have tried other options with no uccess and we will continue to work on getting colts up as its just so important for the long term future of our club

We understand this as a club. As players we cant control this and all we can do is continue to play the game properly, to the best of our ability. Hopefully we can stay in this grade until our colts are up and running again, but if not then thats life and no big issue for us.

How is the mud pit going to look tonight for training after all that rain last night?
