Some interesting results on the weekend. North Freo and Collegians remain undefeated while Willeton and Wembley are yet to register a win, everyone else sits at 1-1. Still plenty of work to do in the season but it could be a close one.
I hope everyone had a good Saturday. I arrived at the ground just before our Drew Banfield colts played, only to see that the cow paddock that is Wanneroo was looking fine except for lack on line markings........ Our Brett Jones colts played before and lost to Freo CBC. They lost the game and they lost the fight.
So I'm glad I missed that as I settled in to watch our DBC colts. Well they didn't put up much of a fight either.
When did chip kicking around the boundary line become a thing? No wonder these colts kids are single and lack activity on a Saturday night. Stop playing around the edges of life and just attack through the middle and get it done just like Mr Mysterious does. That's why MrM was the best.
People say to me, Mr Mysterious, how do you maintain such a good figure when you eat hot chips. It's not hard folks, a little bit of the deep fried golden potato never hurt anybody.
The reserves were definitely a lot better than they were round 1. Again poor ball usage did let them down while Scarborough just had more presence around the football and it meant they came away with a win.
The league game began under lights as the dark clouds loomed over the ground. Scarborough got off to a good start and were leading throughout the first quarter. The heavens opened up but Scarborough still used the ball well and were still taking some big marks. Wanneroo kicked a few goals and by the time it reached half I think the scores were level (I never really know)
During half time whilst MrM was having a few sherbets the heavens really opened up and it was beginning to resemble that movie Noah I saw the other week.
Scarborough got the lead out to 3 goals and number 17 from Scarborough was clunking overhead marks in a torrential downpour.
Wanneroo fought back in the fourth to get the scores level. But Scarobotigh kicked away and won the game. Great atmosphere down at The Showgrounds. Hopefully it can continue all season.
Until next time, goodbye for now (or until someone comments)
