It's only round 2 but Kenwick send a message to the comp with a comprehensive win over Ellenbrook. Cockburn get there 1st win with close game against East Freo and Dianella demoralise Manning.
Could Manning be the 2nd team to fall from this grade within a week? I say this on the back of their reserves being beaten by 205 points and not scoring. Can only assume that they didn't have a full team. Hopefully for the sake of the competition they can get it together.

In our game we were beaten by a very well drilled Ballajura team. Was low scoring for much of the day until they pulled away in the last qtr. We will look forward to 5-6 very important ins next week and with the colts having a bye a few of them may get a run also.
Ressies-Our boys were undermanned but fought hard and will get a big chance next week to get their 1st win.
Colts-Another close defeat to the hands of a fellow contender. Great effort by the young Viewers after being 5 goals down 3qtr time.. Unfortunately they have to wait a fortnight to hopefully register their 1st win.

very interesting to see kenwicks result, definatley made a statement to the rest of the comp, think our coach went and watched that one, so will be interested to see what he has to say tomorrow night!

Having a week off, after a week off, not ideal, but a bye in round 12 will be a welcome relief!

Looking forward to a game this week!!

Ellenbrook 11.5-71 def Kenwick 4.2-26
I only watched the first half of this game but it did seem that Ellenbrooks skills around the ground were much better on the day and their goal sense was sometimes uncanny managing to sneak goals through even though it didn't look like they could even see them. there was some fiery tempers in this game from both sides with some minor spotfires a few yellows both ways early in the third. not sure how the last half played but judging from the score it was much the same.

Interesting day up at Coolamon. their oval reminded me a lot of Quinns oval sort of in a valley and the wind changes direction a lot but with excellent facilities. I think the biggest thing we are taking from this game is our defensive pressure. all over the ground we managed to pressure their ball users so the forward entries and even just around the ground passes where mostly high kicks that we could spoil or intercept which personally I loved as I was on their deepest forward. the first three quarters werent as one sided as the score might suggest they where managing to make some good attacking plays but all seemed to stumble at the final hurdle. I heard their Goal umpire talking about how their Stars just werent firing that day so it will be interesting to see them later on in the year once everything settles down a bit.

That deepest forward would probably be me haha! We are a no excuses team/club , kenwick adapted to the flow of the game a lot quicker than we did , and their run and switch off half back was one of their main avenues going inside their 50! I thought our back line did a great job negating kenwick for as long as they did but when you Continuously go forward as you did ,
Something eventually gives and I'll of sudden 3 quick goals in a low scoring game seemed to be te straw that broke the camels back I agree the score doesn't reflect general play in the first 3 quarters ! It was a hard , but fair contest , kenwick are going to be a strong side in C3 no doubt ! Look forward to the return leg !
