Well after a week hiatus we are back for Round 2. No break now until finals time. So good luck all. Remember a football season is a Marathon so you can either run like Wilson Kipsang (current World Record holder for Marathons) or my personal favourite the Cliffy Young. Just make sure you get to the end in one piece.
Mr Mysterious attended several games of football over the long weekend. All games had crowds over 1000 people. Why you ask? Because they all had hot chips on sale. Which means. The more hot chips you have on offer the more likely it is you will get a big crowd,
I digress. Back to the footy.
Hamersley Carine v Bullcreek Leeming @Carine Open Space
Well how wrong was I last week. I said Hamersley could be in for a long season and I also said Bullcreek would steamroll some teams. Well shows how much I know. It also probably says that this season could be a close one. I think Hamersley may betoo good at home here for Bullcreek.
Hamersley by 2 goals
Collegians v Maddington @Dalkeith Oval MOTR
With both these sides coming down from A grade last season this could be a good contest with both sides having something to prove. A bit of a rivalry between these two sides stemming back from when they played in the B grade GF a few seasons ago. Which is why I put this as match of the round.
Can Maddington win without the use of Kerr and Embley? Who will go 2-0?
We will find out Saturday after 5pm.
I think Collegians will get the win here.
Collegians by 2 goals.
Kelmscott v Wembley @John Dunn
Both sides have had a week to reflect on their respective Round 1 losses. Most of us expect these two teams to be there or thereabouts at the business end of the season so here's a good chance to show us why. Kelmscott are always a better team at home, but I did like what I saw from Wembley 2 weeks ago. It's a tough one but I'll tip Wembley.
Wembley by 4 points
Wanneroo v Scarborough @Wanneroo Showgrounds
A twilight fixture awaits these two sides on the weekend with the game starting at 4.40pm. With all Wanneroo teams playing on the weekend playing at Wanneroo I'm expecting a good crowd. Wanneroo did have a good win against Wembley so I'm expecting them to play the same. Scarborough had a shock loss to Hamersley and will no doubt be looking to make amends. I'm predicting Mr Mysterious polishes off a few beverages and hot chips on Saturday. I also think Wanneroo will win.
Wanneroo by 3 goals.
North Fremantle v Willetton @Gil Fraser
Another night fixture which always makes for a good atmosphere but some interesting football. North Freo had a strong win first up and showed us they could be contenders this season. Willetton were as predicted beaten by Collegians. I can't see them getting close here.
North Freo by 5 goals
Good luck to all.
May you all please wish Mr Mysterious luck in finding a Mrs Mysterious. I've recently found a lot of luck with the use of Tinder so it may be close.
