TOPIC:

i thought i may as well get the ball kicking for this C1 comp.
looking forward to a good year and a tight compition.
hope all clubs had a good well rested off season and are ready to get back into things this weekend.

firstly just my crack at this years 2014 C1 ladder. have not seen many of these teams play for a bit now or know there strenghs or weakness.

1,Kingsway. One of last years top C1 teams. Should be stronger this year and the team to beat.
2,High Wycombe. Fell hard from B grade and no doubt will be another strong club this year.
3,Melville. Always up and about around this mark of the C1 comp. (can't wait to hear from the PANDA and his antics this year)
4,Ocean Ridge. I think same boat as melville, will push hard into the top area of the 5 and always be there abouts
5,Stirling. from B grade i have herd may have lost some key players, and only winning two games last year will look to turn that around.
6,Quinns District. last years C2 GF winners,have some very good key players in Gilly,Besty,Conner and the other little mid that looks like Kane Mitchell. if these guys have all stuck around there is know doubt the might just sneek into the 5.
7,Canning South Perth. Unlucky last years C2 runner up should find them selves mid order, and will have good numbers to choose from with a colts side up and going this year.
8,Kingsley, did they only just win enough to stay in C1 last year? colts won the GF and should have some good talent comming through the club
9,Gosnells, have lost some players to cross town rivals Kelmscott?? and there 3rds??
10,Lynwood Ferndale, only just won a few stay up in C1, have also pulled there colts and i think will strugle for numbers if they get hit with injuries.

Thats just what i think........... So feel free to add or comment on anything

High Wycombe by 8 goals

Canning South Perth (C1) vs Kingsway (C1)
Kingsway by 9 points

Hey Kick the Ball, nice writeup - I presume that you have written them up as your ladder for the year. Interesting comments you make about some sides, I guess only time will tell, good luck to everyone on Saturday - enjoy the footy and enjoy the beers afterwards. My picks for this week are

Lynwood in a very close game over Kingsley - there were some interesting games between these two sides last year and over the pre season. This one will be just as competetive on the field and in the bar

Ocean ridge to get a good win away early on. Agree with KTB they are one of the better C1 sides and im hearing Melville has had a slow start to the Pre season

Quinns V Stirling is a toss of the coin. I think with such a big area if Quinns sort their shit out off the field they have the capacity to build a strong club up that way. If they are still hungry after last year they might start the season with a win.

High Wycombe easily over Gosnells - they wont be happy about not being in B Grade and I think the doggies will be one to go deep into finals in C1

Kingsway by a large margin in C1 v Canning. Canning might have a colts side this year - that group has caused Canning and other clubs problems in the past, and while Canning might have depth the gap from the good sides in C2 to the good sides in C1 is huge. Kingsway the team to beat and I predict them to get off to a flyer and win comfortably against Canning.

And be careful if you go into the the C2 forum and say "time will tell" the basso boys dont like that and you will have to explain your self.

The Basso boys dont like a few things, thats why they are still in C2

Good luck Saturday mate the jump from C1 to C2 is huge, but the standard of footy is alot better than in C2
