It is because they are fenced in, and yes host club gets the bar take. Best ground in the comp anyway, shouldn't be any complaints about playing there!

I've noticed Kenwick and Gosnells seem to always host an GF. Are they the only clubs putting their hand up or everyone else getting overlooked?

probably one of the best community grounds going around (playing surface wise) i remember watching a B grade gf a few years ago at lathlain park and it represented a sandy paddock haha

Been to Gosi's Oval many times over the years and never ever had a problem with anything like what you are saying, gee even left an old rattler running in the Car Park at a SFL Grand Final, and unfortunatley it was still there at days end.
