Viper and RJ you are right on the money. Having two grades above the 4ths really does mean that the lower grade teams numbers jump around. Our 3rds played over 94 players and was the half way house for the club. The 4ths had over 70 players go through their ranks. Injuries and overseas trips was a real feature this year in our senior teams so that meant our lower grades pushed up and got good experience playing higher levels of footy. I suspect TA's are probably very much in the same position as us. That said we have had the depth (except one week that we really struggled) and it is a credit to our 4th grade to be this competitive all year.

As for yesterdays game, it was pretty even at quarter time but then it was all over after that, our blokes were just wanted the ball more and were cleaner. Swan View didn't help there cause with 3 red cards and a pile of yellow's.

3 red cards??? Bloody Nora! Were they early ones? Sounds like a train wreck!

All the red cards in the last quarter when it really fell apart. The game was well over and it was just a load of frustration coming out with some words aimed at the umpires by the Swan View players. Nothing nasty in the game between the two sides though.

Just quietly I think the Wembley/TA's game will be a cracker of a game. Similar clubs who just play footy. No chance of 3 red cards or players going the knuckle! Depending where the game is, I'll watch it for sure!

Yeah, but something just doesn't add up. They beat an average side like secrets by 5 goals then destroy a very good second place side by 16 goals with pretty much the same team playing from the week before. Either the swan view boys were on the meth pipe the night before or there's some dodginess going on. Identification checks on grand final day sorts that stuff out

It was always going to be TA's Vs Wembley for the ressies GF, for those clubs, who cares if you win a 3rds or 4ths flag, just win a flag and it is good.

Exactly why they should be in the D grades with other 3rds and 4ths

Definitely nothing untoward. They had 7-8 blokes from their league side playing but so would've we if we only had 1 team in finals. Our boys were definitely off their game and missing a couple from the previous weeks but probably got what they deserved from the year.

You mean 7/8 guys from their thirds side?

I think that it will be a fairly clean match...

As for the ID Checks, I know that that happened last year in one of the finals that I played in..I thought that the umpires don't do this any more though.
Are they allowed to do it?
