It's Preliminary final week in C1 and Ian Dargie Colts. It should be 3 cracking matches this weekend. So if you aren't doing anything after you VOTE on Saturday then get along to the Wanneroo Showgrounds. Grab yourself some hot chips and CUB beverage then settle into the stands and have a watch. Also make sure you enjoy your diplomatic Sausage Sizzle at your local booth. From memory last time it was $2. On a side note last federal election in 2010 Mr Mysterious had 2 sausages after voting then went on to be Best On Ground in a final later in the day. So it is proven to work.

Colts

Kingsway v Thornlie
Previous meetings this season
Thornlie 14.14 98 def Kingsway 3.4 22
Thornlie 7.14 56 def Kingsway 6.4 40

Well it appears as though Thornlie have had Kingsway's measure this season. Both of these teams have big boys. (Brian Taylor would love that) After seeing Thornlie for the last 2 weeks I would say they are real chance to win here. They even had a good crowd which travelled up to Wanneroo to support. Kingsway did finish on top of the ladder so anything less than a Grand Final would be disappointing. I predict a physical game with the 'token colts scuffle'.
Thornlie by 3 points.

Reserves

Melville v Gosnells
Previous meetings this season
Gosnells 10.10 70 def Melville 7.10 52
Melville 18.11 119 def Gosnells 7.4 46

Melville were disappointing last week as they lost to Wanneroo, I wouldn't expect them to be the same 2 weeks in a row. Gosnells finished 5th in the reserves and by the finals results may have had some league players drop back. Melville may also get some players back after their league team bowed out last weekend. I'm looking forward to seeing Mr Panda in action 2 weeks running, what a privilege that is. I've got a feeling this game will offer something special. Either a fight or extra time or both I'm predicting. Melville to be too good here.
Melville by 2 goals

League

Wanneroo v Kingsway
Previous meetings this season
Wanneroo 18.8 116 def Kingsway 11.5 71
Wanneroo 11.9 75 def Kingsway 8.11 59

If this game wasn't a final it already means much more than a regular season game. But this is a final, with the winner booking a spot in the grand final and promotion to B grade for season 2014, so its safe to say that this game has a lot riding on it. In fact that may be an understatement. Wanneroo will be kicking themselves after letting an opportunity slip last weekend and will need to improve to beat a Kingsway team which easily disposed of the red hot Melville last week. A fair bit of history and passion between these two sides and I expect that to be the same on Saturday. In the meetings this season several yellow cards and 1 red card have dished out so it may be the team who is most disciplined may get the win. Should be a good day for a good game. I will go with Wanneroo to rebound after their first loss and get back to winning this weekend.
Wanneroo by 3 goals

Good luck to all teams playing this weekend.

Also on a second note. Be interested to here people's thoughts on the chances for the league and reserves FnB from each team
Also excuse my mis-spelling of the word preliminary. I tried to change it however I was unsuccessful.

Going to back in Kingsway colts. They have looked pretty classy when I have seen them, and going on watching Thornlie last two weeks I think Kingsway will get up. Will be a very close one though as Thornlie definately have some fight!! Kingsway by 3 liberal sizzles

Melville Reserves to knock off Gosnells. Will be good to see how diifferent both teams are with their league additions (if any). Melville by 4 snags.

Just a quick note here Yolo, Wanneroo and Kingsway are both the Roos. You wouldnt be the person who continually mixes up Kingsway and Kingsley? And now Wanneroo and Kingsway. I know you meant Wanneroo (hence the "bounce back" comment) but for sake of clarity, calling them Wanneroo and Kingsway.....or the Teal Roos and Real Roos will suffice.

I will have Wanneroo in this one. Will be a lot of fight and determination after last weeks hiccup. Going to be a cracking game, maybe even a bit of dick grabbing. On that note, not too much banter on the once hot topic of Number 14.....where are all his haters/admirers? Wanneroo by 4 snags.

MrM - I believe it would be hard to go past the Midget Italian and the Tattoed freak from Wanneroo in the League and Reserves, funnily enough they are actually an intimate item. Will make for a "special" night for them at the Fairest and Best.

Nice writeup Mr M.

Il go for Thornlie in the colts just

Gosnells to win the reserves by a 3 goal

I Think Kingsway can win the league. I have said all year they are the best side we have played.

I don't mean to underestimate Wanneroo for one moment, they have been on top for a reason, but I think they don't like playing man on man footy as much as Kingsway. Wanneroo run hard and spread the ball every chance they get. I think You need to be good at the crash and bash style to win finals.

The weather wont help Wanneroo as it will make the ground heavy underfoot and keep the game contested and tight for longer, which could stop Wanneroo using their strengths to full effect. I do think it will be close and would not be surprised to see it go to overtime.

Good luck to everyone see you at the footy.

Not long now until someone gets a premiership hangover.....

I think #Yolo #Swaggin (hash tagging is cool) has just tipped the ROOS because he has no idea who will win, quite clever from you.
Soprano have you managed to claim a ticket for Monday nights WAAFL Awards night?
Mr Mysterious was in the right place at the right time and has snagged a ticket. It's always very hard to turn down a 3 course meal and a beer or 7.
Premiership Hangover, you may be right about Wanneroo it's should be at good game on Saturday, hopefully you make the treck from Lynwood and come have a look.

On a side note for all teams playing at The Showgrounds on the weekend bring your shovel and pail along because it is might sandy out there.

@Soprano - I dont consider Kingsway to be the 'roos'.
Roos = wanneroo
Kingsway = kingsway

Will do my best to get there Saturday Mr M

Have to vote first and Lynwood has a junior side in a Grand Final so we will be attending there first.

Alot will depend on what time that one finishes

Good luck to all Saturday

MrM - How do we claim these said tickets? If you were lucky enough to snag one, maybe I will be lucky enough to. A 3 course meal + couple beers sounds good for a Monday night. Is the nightclub open afterwards as well? Or would I have to end up blowing all my money on Black Jack until work the next day?

Yolo - Fair point. I agree. Also, using @ as well as #......you sir are a game changer on OzFooty!!

Kelmscott FnB should be an interesting affair

Surely the one and only Callum "cob" Collard has to take all the sausage rolls on the big night. Sheedy put in a call to the club and he looks like a sure fire first round draft pick after his performances at Perth. Will be very surprised if he missed out on the choccies
