Well, well, well. What an interesting weekend of C2. Bit of controversy and all of a sudden there are new people all over the site from various clubs putting their 2c worth in.
Great to see the Canning guys make the GF and ensure promotion after a couple of seasons of being close. Regardless of the other thread, I would love to hear a write up from this game. The juggernaut of Quinns has taken a hit - could be a good thing...? Better lose that game than the GF!
Again, regardless of the other thread, I would love to hear a write up on the Mossie/Basso game as well. Mosman Park with the win ensuring they play off in the final this week against Quinns.
Quinns at least are ensured of one Grand Final with their Reserves side winning what looks like a comfortable game against Canning.
Warnbro have bounced back to beat the Valley in what I am sure was a cracking game of footy with both sides not having another side in the Finals.
Bassendean still have their Colts alive after a good win against Quinns. Seeing Quinns in action last week, I am not surprised by this result. I also believe that Yarran has been qualified in the Colts which sets up a mouth watering match up next week vs Swan View.
Finally, my boys - the Cougar Cubs had a good win against the Minor Premiers, Swan View. In blustery conditions and what was really a scrappy, poor skilled game of footy out at Swan View. The first quarter was an arm wrestle with the Viewers taking a 4.3 - 2.1 lead at the first change. The second term saw the Cougars with the wind and after another cracking 20-minutes, the scoreline showed a slender 4-point lead to the Cubs (5.7 - 6.5). Knowing that the Viewers had the wind in the all important premiership quarter, our Coach maintained to the boys that they had to want the ball more and would have to fight harder than the Viewers.... and they did, taking a 6.9 - 8.5 lead into the final term. The final term saw the Cubs play some good footy to win by 28-points. At not time was the game comfortable for either side. Old Mate Kermit was relatively quiet as the runner, only piping up once at our supporters - which was a shame, because I was wanting a show seeing as I had drove an hour to get there. Interestingly, MadDog wrote on the C4 thread that the Viewers didn't play their best team...? Seems strange to not play your best team in a game which can win you a Grand Final berth.
3-Grand Finals in 3-years for us - a fantastic result. Here's to hoping the Cubs can bring home a third flag to boot.
