What a great battle it was for the d1 ressies at Gil Fraser yesterday. End of regular time it was 8-3 a piece. Mount lawley looked gone but managed to claw back CBC in the final quarter. Extra time saw lawley get up by 5 points and straight into their 4th granny on the trot. Lets hope they can finally get over the line for this one. Any one know about Wesley curtains d ressies, they seem to have cranked it up a considerable amount since their d league were out of contention, a couple of big scalps last three weeks leads me to believe they're a chance to make the big show from 5th.

From what I have seen of the 4th grade this year CBC are the best side in it despite not finishing on top and with them being the only side close to a genuine 4ths team it would be fitting for them to win through and beat Mt Lawley. A club who stack a lower grade and leave their 3rds depleted don't deserve a flag!

Looks like it will be a great battle between the final 3 sides. Wesley Curtin has shown impressive form over the last couple of games and against Uni managed to get a flying start in blustery conditions that ensured they had a great lead for most of the game. They have not stacked their side at all - just have good depth being very even across their 3's and 4's sides. In the finals they have finally managed to get their best side on the park and their true ability is showing.

Having had a couple of great grand final victories over both Mt Lawley and CBC over the last few years will hold them in good stead. I'm sure CBC won't be taking them lightly after last year's D2 reserve grand final where they were 13 pts up with 5 mins to go and got rolled!

Both the Prelim and Grand Finals should be great games between 3 very good 4th grade sides.

That's a bit harsh smello26. With an average age of 37 and only having 1 guy inelligible to play veterans I think it's a good effort to still be playing competitive football. Gonna be a cracking prelim none the less if these two met in last years granny.

Are mt lawley still qualifying injured a grade players for finals?

Nah Ralph league stayed pretty fit this year so no need to nurse anyone through. Pretty much same team 4 years running- old, slow and grumpy.

Where I came from you pick your best sides in decending order every week soon my view not harsh at all. I think it's great those guys stick around the club but If I was a player at the club playing in the third grade getting absolutely belted week in week out with the lower grade winning all the time I'd walk.
