Well here we go…FINALS, what we have all been training for since the start of the year, and what 18 rounds of solid footy has come down to. 4 weeks to see at the end of the day who is the best of the Season. Good luck to all teams, and I hope those that missed out enjoyed Mad Monday.

League:
Bye: Wanneroo

Qualifying Final @ John Dunn Reserve
Kelmscott V Kingsway
This Season:
Kelmscott 10.17-77 def Kingsway 4.5-29
Kingsway 16.10-106 def Kelmscott 11.9-75
This should be a good slog out at John Dunn, Kelmscott have a club list to choose from to play in this game with the League being the only team to make finals whereas Kingsway have all 3 teams in the mix. Kelmscott have been tested more lately with them standing up against Melville 2 weeks ago so they know what the big games are about. Kingsway will have to be playing at their best this weekend to knock the dogs off at home.

Elimination Final @ Melville Reserve
Melville V Ocean Ridge
This Season:
Ocean Ridge 15.7-97 def Melville 9.2-56
Melville 15.12-102 def Ocean Ridge 12.5-77
Melville have come home hard this season after a slow start. They play their Auskick sized oval very well, and have plenty of run all around the ground. OR haven’t really matched it with the top teams this year, but come finals time everything is on the line and don’t expect them to go away quietly.

Reserves:
Bye: Melville

Qualifying Final @ Melville Reserve
Ocean Ridge V Wanneroo
This Season:
Wanneroo12.12-84 def Ocean Ridge 5.5-35
Ocean Ridge 12.8-80 def Wanneroo 8.12-60
OR again are big game players, their list may struggle a bit with all 3 teams playing and Wanneroo maybe being able to drop a couple of qualified League players to bulk up. But it will be a question of who can adapt to the smaller ground better.

Elimination Final @ John Dunn Reserve
Gosnells V Kingsway
This Season:
Gosnells11.10-76 def Kingsway 11.6-72
Kingsway 12.9-81 def Gosnells 8.6-54
Gosnells have like Kelmscott an open selection table as this being their only side in the finals. Kingsway have gone about their season and scrapped into the top 5 so will be interesting to see if they can fire a shot.

Colts:
Bye: Kingsway

Qualifying Final @ Kingsley Oval
Kingsley V Wanneroo
This Season:
Kingsley 9.13-67 def Wanneroo 6.4-40
Wanneroo 8.6-54 def Kingsley 5.8-38
A repeat of the round 18 fixture which saw Wanneroo win by 16 points. We change venue this week and we give Kingsley the home ground advantage. With the colts the focus of the club now will Kingsley show more of their early season form. Wanneroo will be biting at the bit to go back to back, but it isn’t an easy road to the top.

Elimination Final @ Melville Reserve
Thornlie V Ocean Ridge
This Season:
Ocean Ridge 12.3-75 def Thornlie 9.7-61
Ocean Ridge 10.10-70 def Thornlie 6.3-39
OR have seemed to have a handle on Thornlie this season, but again as Thornlie can now concentrate on their colts team, can they step up and knock off OR and progress.

Going on results from this season it is set to be a cracker of a finals season. Finals footy means anything can happen. Keep it keen and clean guys! Enjoy!

Binger why is the colts game Kingsley v Manneroo at Kingsley and not with the other games at either John Dunn or melville?

Well Done Binger a Quality summary. Tips as follows:

League:

Kelmscott have had the edge over Kingsway both times this season and i cant see that Changing although it will be close. Dogs by 12

Melville have been pretty hot and at their school oval will win by 40+

Reserves:

Wanneroo to prevail over Ocean Ridge by 27

Kingsway have been either very good or very ordinary this year but i think their good will show up this week and they will continue on. Roos by 31

Colts:

Kingsley to turn the tables on Wanneroo this week on their own dung heap and win pretty comfortably by 24 points

Ocean Ridge get a few back as West Perth Colts have the bye this week as does Thornlie after they get a couple back from league. Hard to pick as both teams game styles dont suit the small Melville Oval. Toss of the coin this one and could be decided by which team is most disciplined now that there are official umpires who wont turn a blind eye to behind the play shenanigans or verbal abuse. Thornlie by 8 points

Hey Binger, where have you been all season? Bandwagon jumper. You are just jumping on a thread which Mr Mysterious has kept alive all season, and for that you definitely are not invited to my end of season party. I do my writeup later, as I spend the next part of my day licking my wounds.
Also, ill admit good writeup but a like England's new spinner Simon Kerrigan test career. It's a bit brief.

PH, I am guessing the WAAFL has chosen to give the Kingsley colts a home final as they finished 2nd, and none of their other teams are in the finals so no other ground showed any advantage or made any sense sending 2 NOR clubs to.

MM, mate all season I have read your write ups and I have chipped in now and again with a bit of information, but I like to get involved when it counts not debate about who has the best hot chips. Mind you your advice has been spot on all year. I encourage you to give a more informative write up when you are ready. Being a neutral C1 supporter I was excited to get the ball rolling and get the buzz from those involved in the finals.

Regading the colts, it might also have something to do with OR league and ressies playing at Melville.
Not 100% sure though.

Binger I am only half serious, luckily you are around as I've been down with gastro all week. Probably from a rouge chip I ate at about 2.30am last Sunday. I will do my writeup later, I have a few episodes of Packed to Rafters I might rewatch and ill type away watching that.

It's that time the of the year again, flowers are blooming, grass is growing back, but most of all it's finals time for winter sports. I'm looking forward to this final series as it should be close. Lets get stuck into it. Thanks to Binger who stole my thunder, yet I used your template well done son

League:
Bye: Wanneroo

Qualifying Final @ John Dunn Reserve
Kelmscott V Kingsway
This Season:
Kelmscott 10.17-77 def Kingsway 4.5-29
Kingsway 16.10-106 def Kelmscott 11.9-75
Kelmscott secured the important home final birth after a very good season only dropping 4 games. They will look to make use of that against a very good Kingsway team whom will be hoping to win here and avoid playing a red hot Melville or Onion Ridge. I think Kelmscott will make use of the home ground and take the win here and advance to play Wanneroo.
Kelmscott by 2 goals

Elimination Final @ Melville Reserve
Melville V Ocean Ridge
This Season:
Ocean Ridge 15.7-97 def Melville 9.2-56
Melville 15.12-102 def Ocean Ridge 12.5-77
No doubt Melville have had Mr Mysterious posts sprawled across the club rooms after he said "Melville have a slim chance to make finals". They have come home wit a wet sail only with losses to top 2 Wanneroo and Kelmscott. Onion Ridge have also improved in the second half of the season when all looked lost. I watched the Melville v Onion Ridge game online and saw that Melville were to good in the end. Onion Ridge will need to improve a lot from 3 weeks ago.
Melville by 5 goals

Reserves:
Bye: Melville

Qualifying Final @ Melville Reserve
Ocean Ridge V Wanneroo
This Season:
Wanneroo12.12-84 def Ocean Ridge 5.5-35
Ocean Ridge 12.8-80 def Wanneroo 8.12-60
Onion Ridge have been quite good in the reserves this season definitely improved from when I saw them earlier in the season and no doubt will have a lot of support down at Melville as all 3 teams are playing, Injury concerns in Wanneroo's league team may mean some players "league" playes may not play reserves this week. However I think Wanneroo still may be to good.
Wanneroo by 4 goals

Elimination Final @ John Dunn Reserve
Gosnells V Kingsway
This Season:
Gosnells11.10-76 def Kingsway 11.6-72
Kingsway 12.9-81 def Gosnells 8.6-54
Gosnells do have the full qualified playing list to choose from and it will no doubt help them in there quest to win this reserves game. Kingsway may have a few supporters down which may help them.
Kingsway by 2 goals

Colts:
Bye: Kingsway

Qualifying Final @ Kingsley Oval
Kingsley V Wanneroo
This Season:
Kingsley 9.13-67 def Wanneroo 6.4-40
Wanneroo 8.6-54 def Kingsley 5.8-38
Kingsley would be kicking themselves that they let slip 1st place on the ladder and a finals bye. I think they will come out hungrier and stronger than they did last week, especially at home with is what I'm sure to be a strong and vocal crowd. Wanneroo were good last week, but have played some inconsistent football this year. Lets hope that this Saturday isn't one of those days.
Kingsley to win at home by 2 goals

Elimination Final @ Melville Reserve
Thornlie V Ocean Ridge
This Season:
Ocean Ridge 12.3-75 def Thornlie 9.7-61
Ocean Ridge 10.10-70 def Thornlie 6.3-39
Onion Ridge have no doubt had the wood over Thornlie this season yet that will mean nothing come Saturday. They have a very good chance to win here. Thornlie are a very good colts teams and I'm sure they will good out firing here after a disappointing season for the club as a whole.
Thornlie by 3 goals

Good luck to all. I look forward to getting around to a few games seeing as the league team have a bye. So cme share a beer with Mr Mysterious.
