Cockburn Lakes (5th) v Carlisle (3rd) @ Anning Park
Match of the Round.
The wet weather might be in Cockburns favour this weekend as they keep one eye on East Freo in 6th. A win guarantees they’ll play finals but if they lose it needs to be a close game so their % doesn’t drop too much. Carlisle know a win will almost certainly give them a top 3 spot and the second chance. They would have had a hard game against Noranda and need to back up from the loss while the Warriors did it much easier over Armadale. Should be closer than the 58 point winning margin to the Cougars last time.
Carlisle to win.
Dianella Morley (7th) v Noranda (2nd) @ Dianella Open Space
Noranda warmed up for the finals with a good win against Carlisle and will look to continue in the same form as the 103 point victory they had last time. Dianella have been disappointing this season and copped a big loss to Nolla on the weekend. Their work will be cut out for them this weekend to try and keep close to the Hawks.
Noranda to win.
Ballajura (8th) v Nollamara (4th) @ Kingfisher Oval
A wet game at Kingfisher 2 weeks ago showed that Ballajura can play some good footy in these conditions – they’ll need to this week as Nollamara are showing some good form into the lead up for finals. A 100+ scoreline last week and no doubt they’ll be gunning to do it again to make sure they cement the home elimination final.
Nollamara to win.
East Fremantle (6) v Belmont (10th) @ Winnacott Reserve
East Freo are still with a chance of sneaking into the 5 but they’ll need to win BIG this week. They are are good chance to do it at home.Belmont are just waiting for the season to be over as they follow Brentwood Booragoon on the double relegation path.
East Freo to win.
P.S. I had a bit of a laugh at the cold showers at Winnacott comments – don’t think I’ve had a warm one there even as far back as the early 2000’s. At least the beer is just as cold….
Armadale (9th) v Ellenbrook (1st) @ Gwynne Park
Armadale’s last home game for the year, they’ll want to go out with a bang. They have known to upset a few teams over the years there including a draw with the Eels 3 years ago. With the water covering Coolamon at the moment I think most of the Ellenbrook guys will be glad to get out on another oval for a kick.
Ellenbrook to win.
