you not have heard of it DB, but how many finals campaings have you been involved in at this level? makes absolute sense to me to rest the sore boys, not saying they did, and not saying you wouldnt have won if they hadn't as by the sounds of it they werent even in the game.

If you give eeh boys last week off especially those carring corkies or tight hammies, gives them a chance to go fullstrength into the last two games, have another week off and then have a crack at a grand final.

Either way looking forward to the challenge this week end, in the build up to our finals campaign that really starts right now, as we cant afford to drop any more games, so everything on the line every week! and for some of us it could be the last roll of the dice!

Well, well, well, what an experience it is to travel down to Jandakot. There definitely is a stench around at the swamplands,I couldn't work out if it was the bins, the swamp the oval was built on or the 750 swamp rats running around the place. One thing is for certain though,if they continue the current breeding system down there and there is a next time, then the Ressies game will have to get pushed over to play on the front lawn of some Benchley drive homes, hopefully a resident will supply a scoreboard.
Just on the Ressies, when a team is talking % before the game starts it can be a big,big mistake and our boys definitely got ahead of themselves. It was one of the worst performances/games I've had to watch for a number of reasons.
With regards to the league game, without wanting to make excuses,we did have several outs due to work and injury if it must be known. We definitely didn't rest anybody but in hindsight a couple of others probably shouldn't have played. We had no bench come the last qtr so a comeback wasnt going to happen but we fought it out. All that being said,we definitely had an off day as a group and probably didn't have a clear winner on the ground so credit to Jandakot who were playing for their season. It will be interesting to see if they can back it up next week.
We on the other hand have another top of the table clash where we must respond or risk going into a bit of a slump at the wrong time of the year.

Yeah just proves its tough work trying to field 4 senior teams. Sounds like effectively there was a 4ths team playing another sides league team. Good effort Wembley!

Tipping Ladder is as followed. Yours Truly got the 5 points tipping Jandakot to take care of Swan View. Mad Dog's tip of the Parkers having a win backfired and leaves FL87 to be once again top of the leaderboard. Screech came back after a few weeks of non tipping and lucky he decided to since the non tippers got zero for their zero effort.

1. FL87 - 4 - 58
2. Maddog - 3 - 57
3. BD 1980 - 4 - 52
4. RJ - 5 - 51
5. Screech - 4 - 48
6. Footblr - 0 - 46

2 Rounds to go of the regular season. 10 tips to tip, and not many of them will be easy. Predicting there are five games that you could flip a coin on! Round 17 has; 1st vs 2nd, 3rd vs 5th and Round 18 has 1st vs 4th, 2nd vs 3rd, 5th vs 7th.

The Jets sit 5th, yet have now beaten everyone above them. I'm sure some teams would be hoping Trinity can claim 5th so they don't have to face Jandakot in the finals!

Having seen it happen time and time again (where a big club scraps in a wins the flag); I'd think that teams would be just as cautious with TA's making it.

There are a few guys playing in there that will be qualified for finals that are quality - and they haven't been playing all year.

The job they did on Cockburn won't go unnoticed. They needed a percentage boosting win and they more than got it.

It would take a near miracle now for TA's to make the finals. Basically they would require Jandakot to loose to Brentwood Booragoon (who they beat in Rd 8) and Osborne Park at home (who they drew with in Rd 9). Then TA's would have to win their last 2 matches with Percentage.

Lets hope at the very minimum that TA's win this week and Brentwood do the job, so at least there is a little bit of excitment for Round 18.

My view is that both Jandakot or TA's could come from 5th to make a Grand Final.

I would agree with that. On their day all the top 6 could beat any one else. Even Osborne Park on their day were pretty hard against, pity for them there aren't enough rounds left to make up distance on 5th.

DB I'de also say though that all of TAs other teams should be playing finals aswell (other than their 2nd colts), so there won't be anyone to drop. I guess unless they have a few WAFL players come back from Perth that are eligible for finals and drop other guys down the ranks, although even Perth's Reserves and Colts are finals bound.

Yeah noticed their higher grades. But they have had a few players play in their last few C4 games. Maybe returning at the right time of the year to the club.

Also their C4R's will have the first week off.

I wouldn't like to be facing them - especially week one :)

Fortunately; not our problem.

DB.
