With 4 rounds left and the ladder looking like a log jam, I have gone through the last few games and come up with a likely (if you can say that this season) ladder.

Club Points
Wesley Curtin 64
University 60
North Beach 48
Trinity Aq. 40
Swan Athletic 36

Mt Lawley 34
Whitfords 26
Fre CBC 24
Maddington 20
Collegians 8

The top 3 are very much set. Maddington could lose the last 4 and put them into B Grade, but just one more win may save them. CBC set to go 1-3 and just escape the drop. Whitford have a tough draw and may also go 1-3 but they will be safe. Collegians are already studying the B grade form. TA's have a good draw and will get 4th. The big two in play here are Swan Ath and Mt Lawley. Swan Ath have the better draw but the game with these two is the key. this could decide the 5th spot. In saying that if Swan Ath went into their last game at home needing to win against Beach who will be thinking about finals early. Could they pull it off. But the key is the winner of SA V ML.

Yes it is interesting Mac,
I think the mt Lawley V TA's game will set the scene.
If Mt Lawley can beat TA's at home I think they will finish 4th.
If they lose they will be fighting for 5th.

Swan Ath play
Collegians - Win
CBC - 50/50
Mt Lawley - Loss
North Beach - loss

Mt Lawley play

Trininty - 50/50
Collegians - win
Swan Ath - Win
Whitfords - win

But as the year has shown you can not just tick off anything.

Be very interesting

CBC need's to win 3 of the last four to make the five on percentage. As they play 2 of the top 3 sides in the last four games, I can't see that happening.

Whitties needs to win 3 of the last four. As they are also playing 2 of the top 3 sides in the last four games, I can't see that happening either.

Unless Maddo have a complete turnaround I cannot see them winning any more games. Having said that they have done a Houdini in the last two years and survived from a similar position.

TA's need to win 2 games. They play Maddo & Collegians and should win both those so they should make the five.

Mt Lawley need to win two games. They play Collegians and then have to beat one of TA's, SA, & Whitties.

Swan Ath is the only real challenger. They will need to win three of the last four and hope that they can scramble on percentage over TA's. At this stage it will be better for Ath if TA's beat ML, then they need to beat ML to get 5th. If they lose to ML, they can still make it of course if they beat Nth Beach in rnd 18.

Collegians very disappointing this year. However, don't discount our ability to be competitive.

I missed the first Mt Lawley fixture, but from memory there wasn't much in it at 3/4 time.

Tough ask at South Oval v Wesley Curtin.

But, I am confident we can beat SA at home, and we tend to rise to the occasion playing TAs (even in the shoe-box).

Al, Maddo have a good record against the TA boys I think (as they do against Uni).

Keep those top 5 and 9th written in pencil

Maddo collegians back down together... Came up about three years ago together.

ML grab fifth spot. 4&5 making up numbers though. It's a three team race for flag.

North Beach have not beaten Wesley or University this year.
Additionally as to the other likely two sides in the five they have lost to TA's once and won the return encounter by a point. They have also lost to Mt Lawley. I'd suggest that Beach are just making up numbers as well.

Mark it down Uni V Wesley Grand Final!

I'd suggest that neither Uni or WC would really want to be coming up against the beach in a cut throat final but in saying that, I do think that both of the top 2 sides will progress to Grand Final. TA's to finish 4th and Athletic winning 3 of 4 will take 5th which makes for a juicy elimination final on the back of last weekends events and the closeness of the 2 sides in recent times.
