Once again Mr Mysterious your insightful posts are a pleasure to read.

Hi, block yole here. Long time lurker, first time poster

This particular report you've written up is of interest to me as I'm a part of the concerned club, being the Thornlie Lions. Rough season we've had so far, I know. Week in and out we've struggled to fill a skilful team; with inclusions of up to 10 colts players for a single game was not uncommon. Although a poor season we've had I still believe our clash against Wanneroo just gone was not a true reflection on how we've progressed through the year. Our efforts surely could have been a lot better.

Held scoreless in the first quarter Thornlie bounced back in the second to out-score Wanneroo, only to have a 9 goal to 1 third term after the major break. From then on Thornlie were already beaten and every single player on the field knew that, it was obvious and efforts from both sides dropped off.

Anyway, to the other games; a lot of big margin wins through-out the league indicating there were no real close games. Surprising to see Kingsley are on the surge and the few teams above them should surely be fearing that relegation is very real threat if they don't start lifting.

Thanks for joining in Block yole. Must be a tough year for you. What is happening down Thornlie way. You have made 3 colts prelims finals in 3 years. So you had some good kids coming through. Do they stick around at the club? Or have they gone elsewhere. Hopefully Thornlie can get a few wins together because they aren't a C2 club.

Whatever it is it has plagued us for the last 3 years. We have a youthful and talented bunch of players but I guess we just aren't gelling as a team such as the likes of Wanneroo. We can match sides with stats such as inside 50s, clearances and centre breaks. I think at the end of the day it comes down to poor disposal which is somewhat evident due to our very few marks inside our forward 50. Lapses in effort see games slip out of reach in such a short amount of time.
To emphasise my point, 13 of Wanneroos 18 goals were kicked in the last 15mins of the 1st quarter and the 3rd quarter

And just on the previous weeks game where we went down by 26pts to Ocean Ridge, we scored 0.1 to them 5.3 in the first term and we got within 4pts 2 times in the last quarter but simply dominated in the last 10mins of that game
