Swan Valley (C2) 0.0 0.0 0.0 16.13 (109)
Snesa (C2) 0.0 0.0 0.0 16.15 (111)

Mosman Park (C2) 0.0 0.0 0.0 12.16 (88)
Canning South Perth (C2) 0.0 0.0 0.0 9.11 (65)

Bassendean (C2) 0.0 0.0 0.0 16.9 (105)
Canning Vale (C2) 0.0 0.0 0.0 8.5 (53)

Kenwick (C2) 0.0 0.0 0.0 6.5 (41)
Quinns District (C2) 0.0 0.0 0.0 25.13 (163)

Manning Rippers (C2) 0.0 0.0 0.0 6.3 (39)
Warnbro Swans (C2) 0.0 0.0 0.0 24.12 (156)

The Valley went down in a thrilling contest to the last kick of the day. It was a see sawing contest between evenly matched sides, SNESA's key fowards probably made the difference against The Valley winning the midfield battle.

Mosman Park's resurgence continues with a good win against the second placed Canning, showing they are serious flag contenders. Will be very interested to see if they can test ladder leaders Quinns in a couple of weeks.

Canningvale again fell to a finals contender, putting their finals position in jeopardy and raising questions marks about their ability to contend against the top sides. Bassendean showed when they are up and about they are tough to beat.

Quinns took care of Kenwick as expected although I was expecting a closer margin. The Bulls are proving to be a class above at this stage of the season.

Warnbro belted the hapless Manning to bounce back from their shock loss last week and will look to consolidate a top three position that gets the all important double chance.

Well I ventured up to Basso on the Sat and nearly got clobbers by a falling branch under the trees. Anyway the game up until half time was a beauty . Very good skills from both teams. I went and had a listen to the Bassendean huddles at the breaks and I must say that at this level of footy the coach was a different sort compared to a lot of others. No screaming and carrying on but very calm and seemed to have respect from all players . The second half was mostly Bassendean and there back line was very important to there win. It was a very high level of football and a big pat on the back to both teams.Canningvale had dome very good mid fielders but just could break Bassendeans back line. If anything Bassendean need a couple more mids that get the ball. Maybe they can get within 10 goals if Quinns if they turn up to play the way they did on Saturday. Canningvale will still be a force .

Some interesting results this week.

Mossie the real deal? They have a fortress at home!!
Quinns still a force after Kenwick seem to be getting better each week.
Canningvale faultering
Basso turning last rounds loss to canningvale around by a whopping 20 goals.
Do they have FIFOs or is that just rumour?

Maggies who were the better players for each team?
Dingo who were better players for each team?

Going to be an interesting end to the season with 2nd to 6th up for grabs.

Not too sure about FIFO , if it is true then Basso may lose a couple this week, again don't know if there is any truth in this. Someone from the club would be better at answering this . Best players for Basso were there back line and one of there wingers. Maybe a regular poster from Canningvale can give an opinion .

Harris at FF for SNESA was probably the difference in the end, doesn't miss many!I thought our mids had the edge overall, we dont keep stats but I reckon we had more inside 50's just didn't convert.

Sorry lads, had a Corporate Day yesterday and was unable to update.

Colts;
We beat Bassendean.
Interesting start to the day, we played poorly early on, only for the Basso youngsters to repeatedly miss the big sticks. I think at one stage they were 5.15?? The Cougar Cubs finally put together some good passages of play in the final quarter and ended up running away with the game by 3/4 goals but had less scoring shots. Lucky win for us - really needing to put a 4-quarter effort in against teams as we prepare to come up against the better sides.

Reserves;
We lost to Bassendean.
By lots - Only saw half the game and as usual our guys keep fighting. Even our beloved Pres put a jumper on! Basso a class above in this game.

League;
We lost to Bassendean.
First quarter the Basso boys got a jump on us. Yarran made his presence felt early with a good grab and they took a 4.4 to 1.1 lead at the first change. Second quarter saw a tight battle as our young guys started to get some run and carry going. I kicked a couple and we were down by 2-goals at the main break. The third quarter was much of the same as the Basso forwards started to have more and more influence as the ball was repeatedly pumped in there - they led by 4 goals at the last break. Basso ran away with the game in the last with their repeated entry into the forward line being too much for us to handle.

I agree somewhat with what you said Maggies - I think we drew level in the midfield with Basso for the first half only for the Basso mids to get on top in the second half. Our backs played very well in trying circumstances. The Basso backman were very good and helped each other out... The bloke I played on was easily the best I had played on in amateur footy, really made me earn every kick - I am very sore....still!

Hope that sheds some light! =]
Loves kicking goals, passing them off is only an option.

Not that you blokes are probably keen to divulge but with Canning Vales spot in the 5 looking shaky,Bazzo needing to continue on winning to get into the 5 and The Valley needing a few wins to sure up not falling into the relegation zone,would these teams push up a few of the better colts into the league team at the expense of the colts finals chances.
Bazzo have the Harold twins who are capable of playing league,depending on availability from swans. Canning Vale,as stated,have had numerous colts aged players in their league team and a few consistently doubling up which could end up affecting both sides chances and The Valley have already promoted Kieran Smith and maybe 1 or 2 others.

We regularly have 5-6 colts in the league with the same in the twos. We could have a much stronger colts side, but then a lot of young blokes wouldn't be getting a game as some of them are not ready to step. The club gets promoted or relegated on our league side so thats where our priorities lie.

The Harold twins,who are they and I didnt really see too many young boys playing for the league on Sat. A big game for Basso this weekend against the power house team. Dont think they can beat them but they may just make it a good game. Anyone from Quinns on this site that would care to say how they are going and there expectations. Expect Canning to rebound this week to.
