A great day for Kingsway with all 5 sides winning and a very enjoyable night was had by all at the club

Colts

Kingsley brought there undefeated record to Kingsway and were absolutely smashed by a well drilled Kingsway side which led by as much as 10 goals at 1 stage. Very even competition in the colts comp this tear.

Reserves

Another big win to Kingsway although Kingsley kicked a few late. Good standard game played in agood spirir to the end

League

Kingsway consolidated there spot in the top 3 with a big win although the game never really reached any great heights as far as a spectacle goes on a day that Kingsway celebrated ladies day.

All in all a great day was had by all

Well done to the winners. No suprising results really, although would have thought Kelmscott would have put up more of a fight against Wanneroo.

Didnt get down to the games this weekend, had other committments. Look forward to hearing all the writeups.

Xavier, did you attend any matches? A write up would be nice....

Thanks for posting the scores Viper.
Results went the way that most thought they would. A win for Wanneroo now opens up a 3 game gap between them and second place. Whilst the battle for 4th and 5th spot remains a good contest. Although I think Gosnells and Melville will hold on to those positions and after the weekend I'd say Kelmscott will slide. My prediction of a Wanneroo v Kingsway Grand Final is looking promising. The REAL ROOS v The TEAL ROOS

Mr Mysterious enjoyed quite a different day at the football on Saturday. I arrived just in time for the colts game and heard that Kelmscott only had 17. Quite a good close contest in the first half of the game. Wanneroo led by a couple of goals if was after the half that things started to deteriorate. Kelmscott fired up after a Wanneroo player delivered late bump to a player. Then it was on for young and old as Kelmscott came to remonstrate with there teammate. Kelmscott's only supporter at the ground felt a need to join in the fight. The umpires were flashing red cards like they were going out of fashion. Yet no one appeared to be going off the ground. The game was started again when the umpire tossed the ball in and Wanneroo ran into an open goal. Later on Wanneroos acting President asked the umpires and the Kelmscott bench for the spectator the be removed( he was sitting next to the bench) after that there was no real incidents. Just a couple of yellows dished out to "heroes" from both sides. Wanneroo ended up winning by a bit as Kelmscott tired quickly with only 16 on the ground at some stages.

It was last quarter when the word went around that Kelmscott might not have enough for the reserves game. After the team manager enquired if Kelmscott would indeed have a team they only had 6 guys turn up and would be forfeiting the reserves game. When suggested that the colts play reserves it was laughed at. Not good for Kelmscott to be forfeiting reserves, if only 6 players rock up for the rest of the season that's not good news. Interesting to note that they have a thirds team, which after reading the by laws they should have forfeited that game and made to play reserves. This gave me a good chance to enjoy some hot chips and a beer or two whilst we all sat around and relaxed and watched the Wanneroo reserves players conduct a training drill and a few sprints.

Interesting to note that Kelmscott still had a full team for the league game. In the first quarter it was good contested league game. Wanneroo failed to capitalise on the scoreboard though and kicked 1.5 as Kelmscott led at quarter time. Wanneroo took control during the second and converted chances to be leading at a couple of goals at half time. Thank you to the kind man who went and got Hungry Jacks for me. Always good to enjoy the burger that supporters the AFL.
Wanneroo again kicked away in the third quarter and led by 5 goals at the break. Kelmscott looked like making a game of it in the last as they kicked the first 2 goals on the final term. But Wanneroo again kicked away and won by 50 points. Only incidents were Kelmscott players getting yellows for there actions throughout the game.

For a team that is sitting second on the ladder I'd expect more than 7 supporters to attend a game. However it wasn't to be. A good day had by all as it was past players day at Wanneroo. Good to see some old faces down.
