You have to lodge a complaint for this sort of stuff. Not to say it needs a punishment, but it means if it happens repeatedly then the league have grounds for action. If no one ever complains then when something really bad happens there is no record to look back on.

Just a quick call to say it wasnt great and draw some attention to a club is all that is required, lets them know they are being watched.

In a perfect world mate... But the WAAFL unfortunately doesn't always work like that. It is a "weird" animal sometimes and "weird" decisions/directives come from that animal at times.

We'd rather look after the elements that we can control. Response Policies / Behaviour of our members - etc etc

At the end of the day - club's learn that if they don't sort their shit out they will not survive. We have learnt the hard way - but we hope we are coming out the other side now with a culture that will take us far.

I hear that SH laying the blame with Jets. Hate to see a club take the high ground get shafted by those taking the wrong road "allegedly"!

We can't control whatever they think they are doing.

They can also not change the experience of the people who attended the game and saw what happened. We haven't been contacted by the league - and as mentioned - we were worried about our internal processes which more than held up on the day.

Quite frankly - given the response we received from some of their own supporters I'd be extremely surprised if they were attempting to blame us ???? what ???? us shutting the bar early and closing club ???? us having two players in emergency ????

...and that's just the warm up :)

Good luck to them.

Exactly right Scooby!!!
Unless,Dickkyboy, you guys feel you played some part in the matter and will therefor open yourselves up for interrogation your club should have definitely laid a complaint on the info you have supplied so far.

Mad Dog - I was in emergency after being spear tackled outside the boundary line - so....... I've been more concerned about our response because that is all we can influence.

Quick frankly - I don't give a **** about Secret Harbour - and certainly don't believe that contacting the league about their behaviour is going to make the slightest difference to us, them or the off or on-field behavior of footballers or supporters in general.

Our concern is with our Swampland Members - and our club.

Hi DB,

The point I was getting at is that you might want to stay focused on your own club, which is completely understandable, but it means if something happens when my club plays them next, or any other club has an incident and they report it then the WAAFL can call it a "first offence" and give them a slap on the wrist.

It is for the good of everyone that such events are reported, not with any malice but just put to the league to take note of.

We all talk about clubs being made accountable for their actions or actions of supporters, the only way to do that is to create a record of events.

If you can make a quick phone call we are all the better for it, including Secret Harbour who may pull their head in and make changes which will only benefit their club.

Glad you put it that way scooby. And I agree that getting some kind of record is definitely the right thing to do.

However the club will choose to take whatever action it deems necessary. Regardless of whether someone thinks that not reporting this makes us look guilty.

I presume this was directed at my comment.Never said by not reporting it makes you guilty but your club will have had some part to play if in future they are only hit with a 1st offence warning for something that could be more serious.
I'd like to think that your club gives a F*#^ about the way that football is played and spectated as a whole, not just by your club but by all teams. And if some club/team goes outside the unwritten rule of good sportsmanship to the extremes that you have for mentioned then I'd say you are letting down not only the members of swampland but the wider football fraternity.
They acted like gooses against us somewhat as they or tgeir coach apparently did against Brentwood and then it clearly lifted a notch against you guys if what your saying about bikies, blokes in ED,having to shut the club down etc etc.
Good on your club for having a protocol in place to stop things escalating but don't come on here and tell us how bad it was and not be prepared to tell the Ammos.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the purpose of a forum is to discuss things revolving a common topic. For instance C4 football.

Mate you said it black and white that we should definitely report it unless we're worried we'll be found guilty.

Are you aware of any other club making a complaint to the league regarding SH this year?
