Coolbinia West Perth (C1) 0.0 0.0 0.0 11.5 (71)
Wanneroo (C1) 0.0 0.0 0.0 17.11 (113)

Lynwood Ferndale (C1) 0.0 0.0 0.0 8.12 (60)

Gosnells (C1) 0.0 0.0 0.0 22.17 (149)

Kingsley (C1) 0.0 0.0 0.0 5.8 (38)

Melville (C1) 0.0 0.0 0.0 0.00

Not sure went on in then Onion Ridge v Melville game. However I thought I saw a score saying the Onions had a win.

I travelled down to Coolbinia and it's fair to say I have a few concerns about my travel down to Yokine Reserve. Firstly the point and goal posts would have to be the smallest I have ever seen. It makes for some bad decisions as most kicks go higher than the 2 metre posts.
I got there for the colts game and it was woeful. Wanneroo was talking about a percentage boosting win, yet CWP put up a god fight and Wanneroo only won by about 20 points.

The Reserves game was a little different. Wanneroo was in control all day and just went about there business. Some CWP players didn't look interested and barely chased and contested. Wanneroo by 80odd points.

It was here that Mr Mysterious' day soured. Not sure how many clubs out there do this, but NO HOT CHIPS. Luckily you had a freshly made sandwich I could eat. It was good, but I'd prefer HOT CHIPS. A kind reserves player gave me a couple of beer vouchers to soothe my mood, but that was it. I threatened to go home, which some people were happy about. But I thought what better way to annoy people than stay. So I did.

The league game was quite good. Nothing realy exciting happened that I could mention, just a good woo-sult for the club walking away with 3 Simons/Murrays on Saturday. CWP took it up to Wanneroo for most of the day. I'd say CWP will trouble some teams throughout the season but may just miss the 5. Wanneroo played well in patches but some things that can be worked on over the next two weeks leading into the Gosnells game. Wanneroo still undefeated leading into the bye.

Lets hear from some other games.

Had a bopeep at Kingsway Vs Lynwwod Ferndale and it's fair to say that 1 year is a long-time in Footy

Colts - Unfortunately Lynwood had a few playes go missing or just didnt front up which was always going to make it tough. Kingsway fielded their strongest team all year and with another couple to come back from injury will be there abouts at seasons end. Kingsway by 165 points

Reserves - Another game dominated by Kingsway from start to finish. Not many highlights with Kingsway winning by 68 points

League - A very even 1st qtr and half with both sides struggling to gain an advantage with Kingsway pulling away just before 1/2 time to open up about a 6 goal lead. To Lynwood ferndale's credit they pushed hard in the 3rd qtr to reduce the margin to 3 goals at 3/4 time hoever Kingsway dominated most of the last qtr to eventually run out winners by 38 ponts.

As a neutral supporter it was very amusing watching the reactions from the Kingsway supporters with regards to 1 particular umpire and his interpretations of the rules and i must admit i was bemused by a lot of his decisions as well. I for 1 will always support the umpires for the job that they do but this umpire was paying free kick after free kick against Kingsway and every time he blew the whistle you knew which way he was going to point. Full credit to the Kingsway coaching staff and players for keeping their cool but if the game was a lot closer im sure it would have been a different story

From what i have seen so far this year Kingsway will be around the place but are probably just a bit behind both Wanneroo & Kelmscott at this stage however with quite a few players to return from injury after the break and with games against OIcean Ridge & CWP to come should consolidate a top 3 spot. Lynwood showed on the weekend that they can play good footy at times but need to maintain that level for longer periods during the game

Ocean ridge had a comfortable win over melville by about 8 or 9 goals in the end. OR got the jump on Melville early and went on from there, basically out playing them the whole day using the extra space on their big ground very well.

Very tight between 5th and 8th on the ladder, looks like it needs a team to stand up and grab fifth spot, mixed results each week is keeping the comp alot closer than it needs to be

Can anyone get near Wanneroo or Kelmscott? Both seem to be a cut above the rest at this stage.

I wouldn't be calling it a 2 horse race. Still plenty of time for things to happen. 12 Rounds to go. Kingsway isn't far off the mark and Melville can improve. And watch out for Gosnells. They are the dark horse. (Are we still allowed to say Dark Horse? In this politically correct day n age)

Kingsway have been hard hit with injuries the last few weeks yet are still beating the teams that they need to. Pretty young midfield who will only get better as the season goes on. If they can keep this group together for the next couple of years with a very good group of Colts coming through they will have the ability to move up and be competative. Also things ae starting to settle down after a change of president and Coach at the end of last year!
