Looks like Manning colts forfeited against SNESA too which is not good for the colts comp. I think it's only their 1st forfeit so hopefully they can regroup. It would be a shame if the comp dropped to 8 teams. That wouldn't be good for us either as that would give our boys 4 byes from here on in.

I made my way down to all wyong mud pit on the weekend.
i cought the last couple of mins of the res game and it was really close. both teams neck and neck with quinns kicking the last goal to win by a couple of points.

With the league game well the skills started off poorly but quinns nailed the first couple before canning got on the bord, this basicly set up there day. canning tried hard to fight back and got i sniff within 2to3 goals and quinns had answer for everything. lots of fumbles both ways, plenty of hard running tho and the umpires well i did have a laugh to myself on some of the poor dicision making ( i think at one stage of the game it was touch football, if you got touched it was holding the ball!)

All up a good day out, Quinns the better team on the day as they worked hard for each other and better use of the ball. the return game should be even better!

Alot of clubs can take the time to rest up a few players now with the bye this week. canningvale a few key injuries might hurt with not much depth in there res team but a few colts can step up to the challenge ( if there not playing for east fremantle)
Will kenwick forfit there colts? Manning a forfit to there colts is not a good sign, but they do try to get the east perth colts that are not getting a game.
Swan View on top of the colts ladder is good signs for there club with there club in the lower grades. will be some good young talent to come up in the comming years.

ENJOY THE WEEK OFF EVERYONE

Obviously the red is unacceptable cos there's no place for that crap. But the other discipline issues I spoke of were team/structure related. There were a few fifties for back chatting. The club has worked hard over last few yrs to stamp this crap out of our games so hopefully the coach deals with it the right way

Bazz how did you go on Tues? Back to where you should be heading? Do you guy's gets association umpires?

And trust me these ones are the bottom of the barrel. The consistency each week changes, and they worry about silly things like waterboys or runners on the ground and not umpiring the games.

Having been in grades with club umpires and association umpires over the past few years Club umpires are no worse than the guys doing C Grade, and most club umpires will let the game flow most of the time

Went down to my old club and watched Mossie Park vs Basso on the weekend. Mosman Park wanted it more and played the better footy. On the umpiring, The umpire without the cap was outstanding, Let the play go and paided free kicks when he had 2,Umpire with the cap on, Opposite to the other umpire, Was very poor. Good players for Mossies was 47 (the coach i believe) 19 in the guts and 21 down back, 54(normally wears 14) kicked 4 before half time before getting injured....
20 for Basso, Wow what a player, Pity he was very selfish and at times playing for free kicks (Easily one of the best players in the comp) 2 tried hard all day.
Mossies could trouble a few sides on the way home and sneak into the 5. Basso Well depends on which side turns up to play the ball and not the man!!

Cant agree with you there premiership hangover. Most C grade association umps train regularly including theory sessions which is more than I can say for most club umpires. You cant choose to ignore some rules and not others. Association umps are instructed to pick up runners and waterboys not doing the right thing.

When you say play the ball and not the man, what were the 2 teams doing? Are you saying Basso didn't go the ball? Also if 1 umpire was that bad was he favouring any side in particular? May pay to get the club to get an advisor to watch him umpire. Whose club did he belong to?
