SWAN VIEW VS JANDAKOT

RESERVES-Playing at home our boys are always tougher to beat and it's a lot easier as we have more support with our colts always playing beforehand. On the away games it just stretches our resources as our colts never follow us.
On Saturday it was evident our boys were up for a good showing just by looking at the line up. There is several blokes in that team capable of playing in our league side but due to FIFO and commitments during the week not allowing them to consistently get on the track they are happily playing ressies.
A 6 goal to 2 1st qtr was a good start and the boys never looked back. Kicking 23:5 was great because more often than not we've wasted the ball going forward so far this year.
Overall it was a very good result and our coach is doing a wonderful job,the best ressies coach we've had in a long while.

LEAGUE-We welcomed back a few but once again lost a few which is not allowing us to get good continuity in the team and probably the reason we are yet to play consistently good footy. The good thing is we are 7-1 going into the bye knowing that we have plenty of improvement in us and players to come in. Also now that the colts have established themselves at the top of the ladder I think a few of them will get a run through the league side.
On Saturday we played a really good 1st qtr and established a 5 goal lead.
The 2nd qtr was very scrappy and at half time left Jandakot with some hope.
That hope was quickly taken away in the 3rd as we banged on 8 goals with some really good passages of play.
In the last a few of the ins were running out of legs and it showed. It again was a scrappy qtr and well done to Jandakot for not throwing in the towel.

We are now setting ourselves for a big couple of weeks after the bye against The Harbour and The River.

We are pretty disappointed with our Result - having a few out hurt (couple Colts doubled up), but we had enough of the play to be closer early - few missed from 20m in the 2nd wasn't pretty. Ball spent long periods in our forward line for no/little reward and you guys seemed to goal most times you went forward.

I haven't checked how the fixtures line up; but would love to see our WOWO CHB (VC) on your No.18; really could be an exciting contest/battle as your No.18 is a dominant force. Had help, but hee slammed the door shut on us in the 3rd quarter. Haven't seen a player dominant a contest like that for quite a while - wasn't much we could do to stop him.

No sure what he has on that glove he wears; but a couple of times he took marks that ?????? shouldn't have been "pluckable" :)

Congratulations to your boys on the wins.

Interesting to see BB after the bye to compare your sides as I believe he didn't play that week?

Southern River V Wembley

Reserves- unfortunately for our ressies a run of injuries and a Baii wedding meant we had to go into the game against the undefeated team with only 16 on the field. to the boys credit they showed just what they were capable of when up against the wall. only letting a full strength Wembley team to only 3 goals till half time and goalless in the second was a mighty effort. we were under no illusions that it was going to be tough and after half time we just ran out of legs which was expected but still a mighty effort with only 16 players.

League- we got off to a flyer with 7-2 first quarter but seem to stop in second and went to Wembley’s credit they didn’t stop and we went into half time only a couple of goals in front. our coach wasn’t to happy and expected more of us and we didn’t let him down after half time by controlling the match. Another big quarter from us in third set up the win and then we had enough skill and composure in the last to keep them at bay. very surprising Wembley haven’t won a game. good outfit when the have a full which they did on the weekend.

after the by two massive games for us with the first being Roleystone with that also being our alumni day. then The View. should be some cracking games but thankful for the bye.

Brentwood won both thier games against Osborne Park on the weekend by 7 points.

The reserves was low scoing. A bit of a swirly breeze that was playing hacov. OP scored 3 goal to nothing in the first, but didnt get another goal until the 4th qrt. BB were slow to get going and still only had 2 goals up to the final change. BB were firing in the last to get the lead and maintain.

The league game there wasn't more than a couple of goals difference all day. Brentwood maintained a 2 goal gap the 1st half, then OP closed it up to be a 2 point game at the final change. The final qrt was great, would have been 4 lead changes and what felt like a very long time all tied up. BB got 2 quick goals and a point to get them 13 up. OP scrambled and got the last goal of the game, and were on the offensive charge when siren sounded.

The Osborne Park boys are hard at it, and they look a lot better than what the ladder shows. If they keep playing the way they did on the weekend they should get the wins and be pushing up the ladder.

The reason the last 1/4 of BB vs OP felt so long was it went 4 1/2 minutes over time! The Brentwood bench were yelling at the time keepers (a bunch of 20 something blokes drinking all day) who were right behind the bench and they just joked and said shut up and get over it. Couldnt believe their blatant disregard for the rules. A similar thing happened in the reserves 1st quarter but only by about 30 seconds.

Was a shame as the league game was a great contest all day. BB had a few out but OP are a good side who switch the ball well to their wingers who stay out wide. Cant believe they have only won 1 game probably the 2nd best side we have played this year behind Swan View.

Was three & half minutes I was informed. 28 minutes, 30 seconds. The coaches from both teams were looking confused, and a guy from the OP bench went to see what was happening and as he was walking back to the bench the siren went. Was lucky that the lead didn't change in that time.

Scooby, I didn't see you at the game. Where were you hiding?

I didn't know of the long qtr in the ressies! Now I'm outraged that I could've been having my after game beer sooner!

Mistakes happen, and I would tend to think it was just a mistake rather than intentionally letting the game run over. Well I would really hope it was an honest mistake in any case! I mean most coaches would time the games themselves to manage rotations so it would be absurd for someone to think they could get away with it.
