I'm of the opinion it will be very difficult for the PFL to stage a season for 2020 - even if it is a 13 week affair with a 9rnd h&a season followed by 4 weeks of finals.
The potential June 13 date for those 13 weeks to align with September finals just seems too much of a stretch... anything beyond September and things start to get messy with cricket season.

So what are some possibilities? Spring football? Midweek AFL 9s?
What about an FA Cup style knockout competition that would only need 6 weeks to run?

This would allow for something to start as late as mid August if a 'season' could not be scheduled and gives clubs/players an opportunity to function once isolation is over.

64 teams becomes 32..16..8..4..2 - imagine the live pot draw each week to see who hosts which club! You could do 64 for league and then maybe even 32 for colts and reserves which would allow clubs to host massive triple headers. Or maybe just A grade through to C for 30 teams and give 2 teams a Wildcard through to the second round so 28 goes down to 14 but then the other 2 come in for 16.

A PFL Cup in my opinion would provide great excitement if a short calendar for playing was all we were left with - would be great for some clubs to get exposure to other clubs they might not ever get a chance to and ultimately would give everybody pulling the boots on something to play and compete for, in a year where if you win a flag* with no promotion (or relegation) it just wouldn't feel the same.

Glen ridge!
This is a great idea! Could be a great concept and something worth going rogue with if the PFL doesn’t put a season together?
