A fair effort by our Ressies and League teams today considering the quality of players missing from the league team. Canningvale looked a little out of their depth in terms of size, with the big Canning bodies far too strong in marking constests and when the ball hit the deck.
Surprising result for Snesa, I thought their line up was equal if not better than Canningvales having played both in the last few weeks. Quinns were good last year but looks like the young squad is coming along even better.
and yes ... C2 should be commended - given the incidences in other leagues.
Looking forward to the Quinns challenge.

Get some mud on ya!

well we can take a lot out of the weekend even as frustrating as it is to not take the 4 points.

Colts
our boys played well in the Rod Pollock Memorial game. both teams attacked the ball hard and fair. at 3 quarter time mossie was, i believe 6 goals up and had the momentum but to their credit our boys gave their all and pegged them back. mossie managed to hold on for a win but our colts can see how well they go when they play as a unit.

Reserves
as usual i only saw the first half of this game. mossie had a few solid players but the game seemed fairly close at halftime (not sure if the score was close but the gameplay was) then from what i was told mossie just took over. the boys took what they could but that wasn't much with mossie taking an easy win.

League
heartbreaking game. we had the lead for the most part of the game with mossie kicking a goal in the last prob 2 minutes to put them in front and our shot on the siren bouncing back off the line. mossie lost a player in the first quarter to a red card i was up the other end but it looked like he just got a yellow for backchat but then stopped jogging off so the ump changed it to red. it was a strange sort of game mosman park kicking straight at goals but i thought we were controlling the ball more but couldn't convert that into goals. a couple of easy shots that were sprayed a few costly turnovers late in quarters resulting in goals.
the last quarter was played at an amazing pace with mossie getting the better of it.

it was fantastic to see the Mosman park guys stay behind for a few beers and to watch the awards. will definetly be returning the favour when we head up that way later in the year.

Bassendean vs Warnbro - League
I must say this game was prob one of the best and hardest games of footy I have ever played in, 90% of the game was played hard, fast and mostly fair. We had a little incident at half time but was quickly cleared up by the 2 teams. I think all day it was goal by goal with Warnbro leading the game by roughly 8 points with 2 - 3 mins to go in the last.

It was really good to see us Basso boys really pull it together and fought hard to peg it back with the last kick of the game being the match winner!!!

Well done to Warnbro for a hard fought game of footy, looking forward to that lovely drive all the way down there mid year!!

kirbs wrote: Good summation there L-A-G, don't think CVPSP will lose 2 in a row very often, and most probably a good thing for your boys to see it don't come easy all the time.

Still think Quinns will be paddocks ahead with players the talent of Gilhome in there side

Kirbs surely one player does not make a team or is he a love child of yours you do like to keep going on about him, thought you boys down there would be happy he is not playing against you this year

Loves-A-Goal wrote: It was the only blight on a what was otherwise a good day of footy. Looking at other threads it seems that there are issues going on at the moment in other Leagues with behaviours of some players, in previous posts we have commented on the fact that the C2 League should be commended on the way we have conducted ourselves thus far this season. So come on gents, let's lift our games a bit and play in the right spirit. This is amateur footy and we have to remember the umpires are also amateurs.
!

I must agree. I have been impressed with the large majority of attitudes if our opposition this year, both in regards to onfield behavior (limited abuse of umpiring and no excessive melees). There are some colorful history between some of the teams in C2 but in my view it has been a grade played in good spirit thus far
