There has been pretty much zero community spread in WA so really June or July could be possible if this keeps up

Even if cases of Covid-19 in Australia reduce to almost zero without widespread testing to detect asymptomatic cases of Covid-19, we are taking far too much risk.

The danger of asymptomatic individuals passing it on to others who in turn can pass this on again is the real danger.

In my opinion the current restrictions must remain in place for at least another three months after the last case in WA has been diagnosed. During that time the testing of as many people as possible INCLUDING those who do not present with symptoms,is essential to substantiate the risk of removing them.

That is the only safe exit strategy, which is based on widespread testing.

Resuming footy is not an essential part of this process.

Agree Hawkeye - if the premier is saying we are likely to have social distancing rules for another 6 months then football wont happen at community level this year,

I think this dynamic will change the look of community football in WA. If clubs don't have colts for the year a lot of team will lose kids, and as we are seeing teams that don't have colts cant sustain in the competition for long.

The information provided the premier and PM are changing day to day.
None of their numbers expected the results we are getting so quickly.
Also the amount of people going for tests has hacked this week. Things are working.
If community transmission is zero and there are no more new cases in a month then why keep things as they are now.
Keep the borders closed. Test any essentials before they come in. And resume life.

Hawk Eye, Steve Smith,
I dont think there is a wrong answer on this subject.

We all want the best possible outcome.
My thoughts are with S/S, the dynamics of Covid-19 and how successful Australia/WA is dealing with it are changing rapidly.

Community spread infection stats are promising. Lets continue to practise disciplined community measures and see how we fare over Easter and the next seven weeks.

Ps. If true on said appointement of WELFARE officer during this crisis to community football.
Really? From experience and same office bearer at AGM of "And what's your problem?"
