You couldn't have scripted it any better. One of the greatest jockey's of all time and certainly the greatest to come out of WA on his last day in the saddle boots home the last three winners of the day and the most stunning of them all was his last race named in his honour.

1.5 million dollar Damian Oliver Gold Rush. I watched this race live and when he dropped his horse Munhamek out to third last I was just thinking please don't let there be a fall ahead of him.

Then he put him on the fence around the bend with a wall of horses ahead of him then as if there was divine intervention from the racing gods he found a gap between horses and his horse flew like he had wings. Darren McCaullay was stunned he had just about called Ripcord the winner then Munhamek sprouted wings. What a ride and what a fitting fairytale way for a champion of the sport and a great way to bow out.

Champion stuff. Well done Ollie on a great career. Sit back now and enjoy watching your Eagles. Has D. Oliver been their No1 ticket holder before? Couldn't think of a more deserving No1 ticket holder.

Is there a sequel to The Cup brewing?
Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

Was also lucky enough to see it live at Ascot yesterday DD.
To bow out with a ride for the ages was boys own annual stuff.
An incredible fairtytale finish to the career of the greatest jockey in Australian racing history who hails from Byford here in WA.
The atmosphere on track when Ollie booted Munhamek through the field up the straight was absolutely spine tingling.
