Dustin Martin will probably win another Normy but geezus Marlion Pickett is going to give it a good shake if he keeps running the game out. That will be the story of this grand final. Sadly Richmond in a canter.

It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

What an unusual feeling it must be debuting in a premiership.
Surprises no one here we all knew how brilliant a footballer he is and how bizarre it is that players of his ilk blazing in the wafl are continually overlooked by afl recruiters

Yep, totally agree. Plenty of blokes running around in the WAFL who could cut it in the AFL with the right preparation. Kids are a punt. Mature talent like Pickett, you know what you are getting. He was sensational today. And as you say, anyone who’s watched the WAFL over the past few years wouldn’t be surprised. His ability to change direction with one step is Robert Harvey like.

Yep Dazzler. I spent a fair whack of my working life east so know lots of blokes there. Mate was recently telling me how amazing Tim Kelly was and ‘came from nowhere ‘. I corrected him and also said there are others his equal still in the WAFL. Of course he didn’t believe me...

I still vividly remember Marlion Pickett's first WAFL match against East Perth the alignment - he was wearing number 52 in his first year for us.
it was a blinder and he made fools of several AFL players during the game

even though I didn't watch this game , a mate sent me a blurry clip via iPhone of a blind backward 360 degree turn during it
That's just Marlion and he is a form of football sublime you only get to see once a decade or two

To me Southy Marlion's GF story says a lot about how over rated that Vicco League (as you beautifully term it) is and how under rated the WAFL is especially to those Vic clowns.
Despite all the hoo haa about how great it is the afl has never been poorer in standard in my lifetime, at least the WAFL has a decent excuse why it is where it is today as much as it hurts all of us tragics.

There is still some gifted players left in the WAFL and our grounds do and always have lent themselves to rapidly developing/polishing diamonds
The Viccos cannot handle anything unpredictable and never have been able to - you only just have to cast your mind back to the very first Origin in 1977 and the pure evil intent of Basil Campbell

I was at that game. Dominated, Had close to 30 and kicked 3. Impressed me so much I went home and googled the guy because as an EP supporter I didn’t know anything about him. Was amazed to discover I’d just watched his debut. Read about him being in jail and linked to Swans previously. Kept an eye on him since. Given the way he played in his WAFL debut I’m wasn’t surprised he played well in the GF.

Not that it matters given 99% of information contributed from non EP supporters on this website about EP is incorrect but there wasn’t several AFL players playing. Only 2 played for EP in that game. Both were delisted the following month.
