BH -- I was not allowed to play -- although I tried my best to have a kick across the park
most of the lads I went to school with played for either Balga or Westminster-B
my mate played at full-back for Westminster-B and he just sat on the ground talking to the opposition's full-forward in most games.

Was junior football equally one sided when and where you played, bh?
Poor old WP had a bit of a dodgy zone, as you are aware.

The junior club I played for AR started in the SD zone in my first season (at 6) and then was moved into the Perth zone (much to my chagrin) for the rest of my juniors up to age 17...funnily enough (or not in my case) it moved back to SD zone not long afterwards.
Back to your question yes there were always the odd shellacking handed out to weaker sides but I might add junior football was a lot stronger back in the 80s & 90s (and before that 50s-70s) as there were a plethora of sides just in each WAFL clubs zone (virtually every suburb had a junior footy club then) not like now where they have to break the junior comps up into 3 conferences just to get a competition going.
Dont believe all the hoopla coming from the afl and wafc about how football is booming with the numbers as back in the day there was no auskick, womens football, masters football, afl 9s etc that they all include in these "participation numbers" but in reality there are now far less clubs in junior football than in the past!

So what is happening here is that my club is playing by the rules and splitting their best amongst two teams but other club are not.

Exactly the same thing happening in the West Perth district with Joondalup-Kinross. So I find it intriguing that South Coogee get pinged but what about the other clubs stacking teams?
