What a stunning effort from Ash Barty to win the French Open. She's a champion we can all be proud of unlike those two embarrassing flogs in the men's tennis. She has pocketed a cool 3.5 mill and propelled herself to No 2 in the world. Can't wait to see her come up against Naomi Osaka. What a clash that will be. Very proud of that girl. Well done Ash Barty, someone us Australians can be proud of.

Was following the results without watching it too much live (that's the time difference) and was pleasantly monitoring how she progressed through each match.

Been quoted that it's been 46 years since an Aussie has won the French Open, be great to see Margret Smith/Court reflect on her win and what it means for another Australian to do it.

The main reason that she has risen is that her temperament is the same from the first point to her last point. Nothing phases her. Those two male spoilt brats should take a leaf out of her book. She was ranked 600 plus 6 years ago and now she's number 2. She's about the only Aussie individual sports man or woman that i know with that mentality. Her game suits grass and she could go deep at Wimbledon.
