The last of the 2000 children on Nauru inherited by the coalition government when they came to power in 2013 have finally been resettled apparently. The final 4 with their families left for the US last night...good news. Let's hope now the 1000 mainly adult males still on Manus and Nauru either return to their homes, settle where they are or find alternate countries to accept them so that this whole sorry saga created by Labor is done and dusted....that's if it doesn't start again under the medivac laws.

Yep all true , also interesting some of the facts that a lot of people don't get is that there are people who have been there for over 3 years that DIMA still haven't been able to identify , one apparently has changed his country of origin 8 times, this tends to happen when you deliberately destroy ID documents.

The ID thing is a big issue and the reason behind many of the illegals having to stay in detention so long. My wife was speaking to a middle eastern lady recently who mentioned she was a recent arrival via the boats, my wife asked how long she had to stay in the camp, just a couple of months was the reply because they had comprehensive papers and ID. Someones telling these people to destroy the ID's or they are dodgy so dont want to be identified.

That doesn't sound right, Senior. I thought part of the mantra since 2013 was that you would never settle in Australia if you arrived by boat - even if you were found to be a genuine refugee.

But I may be wrong.

Obviously governments and politicians believe taxpayers have plenty of money to waste!

Because they need to prepare the Xmas Island facility if and when the new arrivals show up given it's been on care and maintenance for ages after the Libs cleaned up Labor's mess.
