Fantastic trade period for the Dockers. Started with pick 5 & 77 and to end up with Hogan, Lobb and still keep a first round pick and another 2 inside the top 45 without trading out any future pick.
The only down side is losing a player of Neale’s quality

They're having a crack at Tim Kelly now with picks 14 and 31. Pretty sure it won't get over the line as Kelly won't be interested in going to Freo but they're sure having a go at everything that moves.

Would love to know the reason why Kelly didn’t want to come to Fremantle as the Dockers offered enough to satisfy the cats wishes. Maybe the desire to get home wasn’t as great as first mentioned.

Agree AM. Looks like Peter Bell has done a great job here. Sad to lose Neale but he was always going to leave anyway. Lets see what the Dockers haters have to say...... very quiet so far I notice.

Basically Freo dropped down 8 spots from their original first round draft pick and lost Lachie Neale. Also lost a future third and fourth round pick. With that we were able to pick up Hogan, Lobb, Colyer, Conca and a second, third and fourth round pick this year.

On face value I think the Dockers walk away better off at the end of the trade period than they were at the start.

The forward line should look very different next year and one would think that the likes of Taberner, Cox and McCarthy should benefit.

Losing Neale is a massive blow though fellas that was where Freo got all their ammo to trade with, Fyfes fitness becomes especially important now.

Unfortunately for lobb and Hogan, Freo were the only club in WA that could afford them.

Bell did well to get them in but unfortunately history is against them both. Freo should be more concerned about why lachie left and Kelly refused to play for them.

Hogan and lobb came for the $$.

Players come and go tuggers. I 'm not sure too much should be read into Kelly's refusal to go to Freo...after all Shiel chose Essendon above all others, Wingard picked Hawthorn and so on. The fact that Hogan, Conca, Colyer and Lobb were all happy to go to Freo should put that concern to bed. What this does is put the spotlight firmly on Ross Lyon. He now has some quality young blokes from last years draft and proven AFL footballers from this year's to add to a base of 50+ gamers already at the club....another ordinary start to season 2019 and it must be goodbye Ross.

You are tugging it again Tugger. It has been reported Hogan came for less money and only a 3 year deal. Hogan was always linked with Fremantle. I heard his whole family are Freo thru and thru. Kennedy most likely has 2 or 3 years left so he, Darling and Hogan most likely would have got in each other's way.

Lobb sees himself more as a forward / part time ruckman. WC would have wanted to use him more in the ruck. That's the way it goes you can't have everything. Some players go where they see an opportunity to ride the coat tails of a really good side and win a premiership, some go for the money, family, gf, lifestyle etc........
