I am a little more hopeful. The WAFL had a real bad patch in the late 80's when the Eagles joined the VFL and the league recovered from that. What encourages me is the sight of dads and mums taking their kids out for a half time kick at WAFL grounds. If these kids have a positive experience at the footy, there is more likelihood that they will turn into supporters of the future
