FFS
Elari wanted out for 2 years, no great loss
Foot soldier and nothing more, did you see his game against Perth?
Woeful effort
Rodgers is a reserves player and always will be in and out of the league side

I'm simply pointing out the stats Swedgen as per the topic, are you suddenly a McMahon backer? Regarding Rogers that is your opinion, i beg to differ. He has more talent in his left big toe than the Perth coach could ever dream of. He was in and out of the side last year yes but who was the coach? As I have said countless times, he got injured before the first home game so he's coming back from injury, he made a couple of our blokes look silly in the scratch match and I have no doubt he will do it again next time around.....in the league match. The boy can play and so can Elari. It takes players a while to settle into a new club environment, the current Perth captain Paul Bevan didn't exactly set the world on fire last year did he?

I have never rated Elari or Rodgers
My views on them are well known by people who know me
What the hell has Rodgers done at senior level for you to rate him so highly?
You think he was unfairly treated by the selectors, I dont as he has shown SFA to command a regular berth
McMahon backer?

I have expressed my opinion on him in the past, However I cant knock him or the assistants on what the team has shown so far
From my observation the gameplan is nothing like what was served up last year and results have followed
Also there is belief in one another in the playing group from the games I've seen this year
In your opinion why has there been improvement?
Paul Bevan struggles a little last year yes , but overall he was better than ok
Has been given a license to be more attacking this year and it's payed dividends

If you don't rate Elari and Rogers there must be 15 other players in the Perth line up you don't rate. Rogers bust packs open, shrugs tackles, his tackles stick, is a great penetrating and accurate left foot kick, has explosive pace and great side step and kicks goals. What more do you want? We finished 8th last year so Dunderklumpin not picking him is more a sad reflection on the coach than Rogers form.

Also i was up in the clubrooms last year after our first win over Subi. Rogers played ressies that day after being dropped and he racked up about 32 possessions and kicked 5 goals that day and reserves coach Adam Pickering said before issuing the best player award, that Matt Rogers had text him during the week and asked him what does he have to do to get back into the league side? What more can you ask of a player, if that is being a FIGJAM as some have suggested then I'll go he!!

Do you ever go out and listen to the coach talk? I suggest you go and experience it, have you ever gone back to the awards and heard him talk? I cringe when i hear him talk, i have no time for the bloke.

There could be many reasons for the "improved start to the season which is 4 games old for us". Firstly we have had a soft draw, Peel and SF to open the season at home and SD clearly are not going too well atm and I also cringed when i heard this coach put a positive on the loss to EF saying "EF are going to be a top 2 side and we know we can mix it with the best". EF are not the side they were last year when they had a good run with AFL players available.

Koby Stevens was a key in their midfield last year, they have lost 2 ruckmen from last year and with WC not traveling that well they are losing more players like Dalziel and Brown than they are used to. They are struggling up forward this year.I don't think we've played anyone yet who are in good form, it is early days.

There are some older wiser heads and people with high level football experience around the club than the club has seen in a long long time and I think this has made a difference. Marty Atkins, Adam Pickering, Trevor Williams and Michael Broadbridge who are probably acting as mentors to McMahon and some younger players. Perth would have the most experienced assistant coaches in the comp and the CEO is having a significant input into player culture and I have no doubt he is acting as a mentor to the senior coach. Marty has coached himself at amateur level and i was told by a player who played under him, he is quite a good coach.

Then there is the recruits, a couple of key backmen (one yet to debut) and a couple of genuine ruckmen who have arrived at the club. No coach at Perth in the last 20 years has had the luxury of that amount of recruiting on one summer. Marty has played a big part in that in getting Trevor Williams to Perth and those Peel ruckmen have followed.

How many players McMahon has coached in u/16's and 3 years at colts are now playing under him in the current league side? I can think of only 2, Hodge and Florio, there would be more playing at other WAFL clubs now than at Perth. Don't you find that unusual?

I reckon the likes of Bryce Foreman, Steve Lally, Earl/Scott Spalding, Wayne Allard and Ian Newman are thanking their lucky stars for taking the plunge and leaving Perth. Though Guy Baxter was one fella EF should of sent back to Perth......

hows Chad Sandilands going for PFC these days?.....reckon if he had of stayed on at EF, he would of had a better chance of playing league with EF limited rucking stocks than stuck in PFC tall man queue....

Chad Sandilands is pathetic, he is and will always trade on the name of his brother, would not have mattered where is was or going to be, useless!
