Only a person completely divorced from reality like Colin Barnett could think that renaming the first Monday in June from Foundation Day to WA Day ameliorates anyone's feelings.

58shark: sadly, I don't think it will be changed back at least for the moment. It will depend on whom leads the liberal party and whether there is pressure from the party's grass roots.
