Great to see the New South Wales players missing from a winning team. Warner seems the only one not performing. All the other NSW players are on par.. Great knock by Maxwell. NSW might complain about the WA large content.. Winners are grinners

So the selectors are concerned with Warner's lean run coming up to the
SA tour...not sure why Warner is even playing in the T20's....should of been rested after game 3 in the ODI series and given a run v WA in today's shield match....of well off Davey will go to SA to face the 4 prong SA pace attack.....wish him well in his current form.

Carey certainly looks the goods behind the stumps....can't wait till he is Aust keeper in all forms TBH... obviously no Gilchrist with the bat but at 25 yrs old definitely has a big future ahead of him. Great to see Agar find his niche too.... definitely should be Aust number 1 short form slow bowler....Zampa has run his race TBH...plus Agar can bat and field better too.

The SACA's look like they have a couple of good young keeper batsmen in Alex Carey & Harry Nielsen.

Given Australias achievement in making the final of this series, which is breaking new ground in the 20/20 game here, the selectors need to make some difficult decisions in the lead up to the next 20/20 world cup in 2020. The success has IMO come from picking specialist 20/20 players in good form in the BBL, so it would be wise to continue that policy. This could get a little awkward when the test players are available for 20/20. For example
Where does Steve Smith fit in? Whilst he is an outstanding test player and still in the best ODI XI,he doesn't have the same creativity and power of a Maxwell, Lynn or Short.
The 3 premier fast bowlers, Starc,Hazelwood and Cummins would not be effective as a trio in a 20/20. Guys like Tye and Kane Richardson are far more effective in changes of pace to take wickets and slow the scoring rate.
Nathan Lyon may not be as effective in a 20/20 as guys like Zampa, Agar and Swepson as Willey showed the other night in the PM's gameby smashing him for 34 in an over
All questions for the selectors to answer but I think the trend towards having different players and even different captains for test ODI and 20/20 is the way to go.

Interesting to read Mikeh that Smith hasn't played an international T20 for 2 years!...yet still wants to be the T20 captain....as you say where does he bat.... should be a horses for courses policy...pick T20 specialists not because Smith is the country's best batsman....at the longer format...ditto to Starc, Hazlewood and Cummins on the bowling front....on paper Aust side would look stronger with Smith, Starc et al on the team sheet...but is it Aust best T20 team?.... Tye has been fantastic for Aus in the short format so far.

Awesome hitting, but I reckon my back yard is bigger than that oval!
Must have been annoying at the game when the Kiwis were batting....”hut a sux, hut a sux”.....

Australia win the tri-nations T20 Internationals going unbeaten through the series and move from 7th in the world rankings before it started to 1st now.
Gees the Kiwi cricket commentary makes the Ch9 lot look unbiased and to the lady boundary rider Laura (Mrs Marty "Two Toes" Guptill) your upcoming day/night Test at Eden Park is not the 1st ever day/night Test we have had at least 4 of them here in Aus plus Eng & SA have had held them as well.
It must be a delight for our ol mate Freeze over there at times!

Good win or should I say 5 wins by the Aust team.... pity about Lynn, really can see his international career centering around T20 and at a push 50 overs.... hasn't got the body it seems to last 5 days....be interesting to see how Short goes in the longer format.... interesting call to promote Agar at 4.. thought Carey would of been the better option.... bowling wise can see Starc and Cummins pushing out Richardson and Billy in the bigger T20 events....though Billy is definitely a diamond in the rough well worth perservering with.....Tye for his change ups needs to stay.. Agar to stay... can't see a spot or need for Smith TBH....Finch maybe vulnerable but he has done well at 5.....only T20, but good to see the selectors picking in form T20 players....
