Thought you were going to explain to those, who were unemployed at that time and when the nation was broke, how spending 1.3 mill on a drunkards painting was good fiscal policy?

Devonleigh And I quote:

42, from memory you’ve banged on about conscription and Vietnam b4. Wish you would get your facts right on both. Try McMahon government, 72 and 71.

Nothing from the above quote of yours talks about Blue Poles. You specifically spoke to my assertion re ending conscription and our involvement in Vietnam. Is the National Archive of Australia incorrect or not?

After you have addressed that if you would like to discuss whether the purchase of Blue Poles was a good decision or not; by all means we can debate that.

Sorta pales into insignificance when compared to the wasted $5B spent in the false invasion of Iraq. B)

Whoa, hold on there fella....our American masters told us that invasion was necessary, they wouldn’t lie to us. Same as they didn’t lie about Vietnam.

Not to mention the 500 young men whose lives were wasted in Vietnam because the government depended on anti-communist votes for its existence.

No argument there, 58.

Of course, the deputy sheriff was only too willing to listen.

I guess it depends on what you know about art.
Not that I do, but a treasure of ours.

Didn't you write somewhere else "what's this to do with this topic"

In my lifetime

Howard/Hawke easy the best - hard to split them.

Apart from that Menzies, easily. Always like John Gorton as well.

Worst: Whitlam by a mile - then Rudd/Gillard.
