Adam announced his retirement from the Scorchers after the game last night. A loyal servant of WA and Australian cricket, Adam played many fine innings and it was great that he got his late chance at test cricket where he distinguished himself with an average of over 60. An excellent tactical captain, he led the Scorchers to 3 titles. The only gap in his career was that he never played in a winning sheffield shield team, although he was involved in a few finals. I have never met him but he comes across in the media as a really nice bloke, friendly and humble with no ego.
Congratulations on a great career Adam and hopefully JL can find a role for him in the WA setup.
Voges retirement may not be the only one from the Scorchers. Mitch Johnson and Michael Klinger will probably be considering whether they want to go around again next year. A changing of the guard is in the air.
