Very disappointing and someone ought to talk to him. He was disappointingly adamant that it is the only way to go.

I'm on the understanding the Perth Footy Club are not interested in a "merger" and have made it abundantly clear. Perhaps Randall was half pissed when making the statement. Lets hope when he's sober this morning he seriously has serious second thoughts on his comment!!!

Perth have had some competitive Colts teams the last few years.The elevation of those players seems to be Perth's future.Now the confusion of this AFL Colts league and players not being allowed to play league footy.Does anyone know what's happening next year. Have to say with the new Stadium. AFL-WA,Subi close down,alignments. Subi reign at the top.The WAFC has some work to do.

I am far from being a lawyer but in MHO the name of the club is protected for the benefit of it's members by virtue of the club's Constituion. Not sure that it could end up in the Supreme Court. Could be an open and shut case for the defence unless the members themselves agree to throw their history down the drain by agreeing to give up the name.
I'm not so sure WCE would want the name so PFC can survive under an alignment or as an amateur club quite separate to WCE under a merger/takeover scenario.

The bottom line is "leave us alone" as a proud original club of the WANFL/WAFL. We want nothing to do with WCE or anyone else.

Smoke -- yep, I agree 100 pervent, which is why I mentioned going to Court if they get nasty. There is also the question of equity law and treatting clubs equally. Thr Commission can't protect peel on the one hand and then, effectively abolish Perth, on the other just because it suits them.

I've got news for you - they have already tried it on , in 1986 to be precise in history.

Originally it was intending to be known & branded as the Perth Eagles , but rightfully the Demons stood up & had that shitcanned

So one guess why they'd love to get the Demons into the abyss & WHY they've rolled into Lathlain ?????

Probably we would lose our case if WCE wanted the name Perth Eagles BUT they would not win the rights to the name Perth Football Club Inc.

Its a no brainer that this is on the cards and its only a matter of time before it happens.
There is no way in the world the redevelopment at Lathlain was ever going to happen without this being the eventual aim.
Perth being the least successful traditional club in the league are ripe for the picking, there is virtually nothing that will stop happening within the next 10 year at the most is my guess.
Perth were one of the clubs that put feelers out for the alignment and why wouldn't they as PN stated its the only real long term hope for them.

Along with that in 20 yrs or less my guess is SFFC and EFFC would have merged.

If what TFF says is true and we have no reason not to believe him, i think Randall making those comments is a disgrace and totally unprofessional in his role as a commissioner. I would encourage TFF to write a letter of complaint to the commission and contact someone in the media so it can be properly brought out into the open and get the WAFC/Eagles to admit to the rumour or to categorically deny it. Perth are a proud footy club with very loyal members and supporters so lets hope their clubs constitution provides them with the protection to stay independent, if thats what the membership wants.
