He is the current T20 keeper, and I reckon he will keep in the one dayers coming up

Maxwell can not be considered as the all rounder, its not only Smith that doesn't rate his bowling, he only bowled 15 overs for Victoria out of the 194 Victoria bowled at WA in the past few days. Cam white bowled a similar amount of overs. I have concerns about Marsh bowling, and I don't think Stoines has had enough cricket recently to be ready to play for Australia.

here is a thought, leave some grass on the wicket, make it fast and juicy and allow the quicks to do their job. The last few years the WACA has been a road, that's a sure fire way to lose test status if you turn up pitches that cant get results unless the captains are creative with their declarations

Oh gawd Dirk Nannes not sure who made him a special comments man on the ABC Cricket Commentary but they should be given their marching orders......bring back Skull!

Skull & Harsha, arguably one of the best commentary teams. Great tto listen to.

One of the funniest piece of commentary I have ever heard was when Skull was on the ABC with Glen Mitchell one Test and told the Kermit Jagger joke.
I can honestly say whilst driving through the mid west countryside I nearly pissed myself laughing......worth a listen if it's available somewhere online?

Steve Smith will sleep far easier after that win....hopefully he will learn from the importance of consulting your bowlers/batsmen about future decisions.....onto Perth....love the Eng coaches comments Aust batsmen may be scarred....no pink ball or lights for Jimmy to weave his magic with.....just a dead WACA pitch and good ole Perth sun.....surprised Mitch Marsh was selected....would of thought George Bailey was a monty to play to repeat that 30 plus over v Jimmy...one way to shut Jimmy up I reckon

This latter fact is the interestting one to think about in the history of Australian cricket. How many tests went to five days in the SR Waugh era? England is playing without four of its better players -- Finn, Wood, Hales and Stokes

If Shaun Marsh had of walked off instead of using the DRS, Australia would have lost the test match. In India he did walk off which shows you how fine the margin can be in test cricket.

Australia has won back the urn in its own conditions -- in short the side has done the bear minimum, that is all.

Did both tests go for 5 days or did they go into the 5th day? There is a slight difference.

Ti Em, pointless comparing Steve Waugh's team with the current one, SW's team was right up there with the best all time test teams where as this one is best described as capable due to a good pace attack and a top quality spinner. If Smith had enforced the follow on then it wouldn't have made the 5th day thats the only difference, either way the result was almost inevitable.

I agree with all of that. I was surprised the Aussies did not bat longer in the first innings. Both wins have been comprehensive and the Ashes should be wrapped up in Perth with a whitewash looking likely.

TM: there is indeed a differnce between the two; I said in a previous post that the game would have been finished on the third night if Smith had done the right thing. In a way I agree with you about not making a comparison between SR Waugh and today: he would have definitely enforced the follow-on.

BH is that the story when Kerry and Mick Jagger got kicked out of the Lords Members Bar.[/quote]

A Frog goes into a bank and approaches the teller. he can see from her nameplate that her name is Patricia Whack.

"Miss Whack, I`d like to get a $30,000 loan to take a holiday."

Patty looks at the frog in disbelief and asks his name. The frog says his name is Kermit Jagger, his dad is Mick Jagger, and that it`s okay, he knows the bank manager.

Patty explains that he will need to secure the loan with some collateral.

The frog says, "Sure. I have this," and produces a tiny porcelain elephant, about an inch tall, bright pink and perfectly formed.

Very confused, Patty explains that she`ll have to consult with the bank manager and disappears into a back office.

She finds the manager and says, "There`s a frog called Kermit Jagger out there who claims to know you and wants to borrow $30,000, and he wants to use this as collateral."

She holds up the tiny pink elephant. "I mean, what in the world is this?"

The bank manager looks back at her and says...

"It`s a knickknack, Patty Whack. Give the frog a loan. His old man`s a rolling stone."
