Mitch Marsh to captain WA....TBH out of all the available allrounders at Langers dispisal...is Mitch even first in the queue....surely Stoinis,Cartwright,Agar and Turner would be picked before Mitch....please hope Mitch doesnt get picked as a specialist batsman because surely he wont be in Lehmanns mind to play as a specialist batter......touch wood this appt drives Mitch to deliver on his potential....because Stokes is killing Mitch in terms of deliverance on the test stage!

Funny how a lot of people can crap on Mitch on social media call him a spud, and yet national selectors, Langer and other cricket experts rate the guy, maybe just maybe they know something we dont, just putting it out there.

PN....same wise folk who persisted with Watto for how long?....no one doubts Mitch's "potential"...just how many chances can one player be given with a poor CV such as Mitch?....truly hope he delivers but hey select him after a consistent run of performances...not just on the back of a whirlwind 30 off 15 deliveries in the Big Bash....make him LEARN his game and EARN his spot....not too much to ask is it PN......also Swampy is good mates with all those folk you talk about PN being in the know.

look I don't think he's test standard ill be surprised if he gets another gig in the test side, obviously Langer thinks he has leadership abilities, captained the u/19 Australian side to a world cup.

Cartright will bat at number 3 for WA, I reckon youll be able to fit Mitch somewhere in the top 7, who knows maybe the captaincy will bring out the best in him, either way the WA side looks pretty strong this year.

Hopefully Mitch & Ashton can lead us to that long awaited Sheffield Shield title we have been waiting an eternity for...good luck boys!

Any idea of WA's best 11 would be...I see Whiteman is out thus Inglis would snaffle his spot....assuming Aust goes for 4 fast bowlers and Lyon...

With Green and Mackin more than worthy of a gig.....is Klinger the one to miss out to squeeze either one of those two in....certainly WA bats deep....who knows with Shaun Marsh and his hammies too.....any other good young bats in WA grade cricket?

Personally my view is that it caused a great deal of angst and lead to disharmony in the squad.
